Depends on the kinda dog. I'd definately kill some dogs, like pit bulls, but then theres other ones that I wouldn't possibly be able to do it to. 500k is a lot of money, thats a house, and a car...

Ugh.....how disgusting can people be! I'd NEVER kill a poor puppy no matter how much money I get. It's simply unthinkable!

whoa, you people are idiots. you guys are the type who would get pissed off at people who would kill a puppy or "ewww gross, they eat dogs and cats in asia!" and then go and have yourself a nice juicy hamburger that is pumped up with hormones. educate yourself before you speak!!!! or type, rather.

anyways, that's why i'm vegan because i am a conscious human being.

Yes, and then it would go to heaven, and be enlisted in God's secret army of dogs.

i would only kill the puppy if it was painless for the animal. 500,000 dollars is a shit load of money.

the answers to this post are pretty striking. perhaps its been pointed out, but i'm seeing some real flaws in logic here.

lets establish a few givens for the sake of discussion:
    1. while some of you are surely vegetarian/vegan, most of you probably are not
    2. if you eat meat, you're eating the cooked flesh torn from the carcasses of animals raised purely for slaughter without any actual consideration given to the animals' comfort or wellbeing before slaughter. they are treated like manufactured products, or plants being grown for harvest.
    3. despite supporting a rather disgusting and coldhearted industry such as the meat industry, despite PAYING them to abuse animals such, most of you would be unable to turn the tables and instead kill a SINGLE animal and be paid to do it.

now, this obviously doesnt go for everybody, but for most. so bear with me.

the puppy, as opposed to livestock, is most likely a small, happy-go-lucky animal without much of any stress in it's life and without being shot full of chemicals and hormones to make it grow faster, etc. etc. assuming it were to be killed as painlessly as possible, it would be almost a service to the dog when compared to how livestock is raised an slaughtered. is a dog more deserving of life than a cow or lamb or chicken? or would you prefer to pay someone you'll never meet a lot of money to brutally kill hundreds of animals FOR you so you can eat them, but just dont want the "guilt" of having killed yourself?

if you'd feel guilty about killing an animal for money, why then would you be willing to pay someone else to do it in much more barbaric, factory-like conditions and on a much larger scale? killing a puppy is to murder as the meat industry is to all out murderous holocaust. not to mention that the cattle industry is ravaging the environment not merely in terms of the numbers of lives lost, but in terms of ruining land quality and so on. killing a puppy would not only be less barbaric and brutal than financially endorsing the wholesale slaughter of millions of beings, it would also be more environmentally sound than financially endorsing the rape of our lands.

now i'm what you may consider an omnivore, and i won't deny that i do eat storebought meat frequently even though i really think i ought to eat nothing but fish and game meat. however, though it would take a lot of preparation to actually kill the dog, i think i could do it for that kind of money. i realize i have blood on my hands as it is simply by paying so much money for so long for other people to do FAR worse things to animals. this would be the least of my concerns.

the answers most of you are giving are completely contradictory to the lifestyles most of you lead. i realize many of you would feel guilty about having an animal die at your own hands, but compare it to the death-based meat industry that most of you pour hundreds of dollars a year into, and tell me which one is really worse. if you value life enough that killing a single happy puppy would make you cry from guilt and yet you eat meat, i'd say you probably are a hypocrite of the highest order. me, i feel bad about it but don't change quickly, and i'm going to admit to being something of a hypocrite in this regard, yet at the same time i both recognize it and value life a bit less than most of you seem to, for the most part. life is life whether its a human being, a puppy, or a steroidal freak of science cow....no killing is really above or below another, no life is worth more than any other, and death is an everyday thing for every species. i'd have a hard time mustering up the balls to kill a puppy, but i think i could do it simply because i realize i've done much worse with my money, and because while i love pets and love animals, this wouldnt be my dog, i'd have no connection to it. hell, with that kind of money i could live pretty comfortably for a while....i'd think that it would be worth it, considering the circumstances.

that said i'd have a hard time killing it with my bare hands, snapping its neck or something. i'd need to put it down via injection or use a .22 or some other small weapon to make it as quick and painless as possible without having to feel the bones give way under the flesh....ugh....
