I'm a Vegan, so I'm Type 4. Fructarians are different from Raw Foodists. Raw Foodists minimize or eliminate food from their diet that has been cooked, but they will generally happily munch on a carrot. Fructarians may cook their food, but they don't eat anything that can't be consumed without killing the plant that produces it. For instance, a fruitarian would not eat a carrot or a potato, but they would eat nuts, seeds, berries, fruit, and vegeables such as tomatoes, squash and things like that.
Type 2, I can't give up cheese! I also don't bother if theres eggs and dairy in the ingredients but not dead stuff like geletin.
I;m a type 3. I would be a 4 but I can't seem to give up real butter. That's the only dairy I consume
4. vegan, as far as diet goes, no egg dairy meat, leather etc . products not tested on animals is hard cause they (detergents) are triple the price at supermarket and im not working,= not buyign them & buying teh cheap most likely cruel ones. I stopped colouring my hair a while back too, i cant stand to use it anymore, when i went to buy the stuff, i kept imagining a dog like our old dog being force fed the stuff and its just horrible to think to put that crap on my head, its jsut put me off the whole thing. i used to be almost vegan for a while a 3.?, not eating dairy or egg directly but eating it if its in another product. Now i dont eat that stuff, i jsut cant eat it anymore i feel like im betraying my values when i do. i might go back to a 3 one day but i hope not. i cannot wait to be able to buy stuff like non animal tested detergent, i prolly sound like a hypocrite but i can't afford it:|
Same here I've never been a fan of milk, and eggs are starting to creep me out (chicken's period... ew) TTFN Sage
i guess i'd have to say lacto ovo now, though i rarely eat stuff with eggs in it. if i'm at a party or shower and there's cake i'll eat some, and i'll eat french toast or buscuits on occasion... but i will hardly ever eat straight eggs. i was vegan for a bit. i was looking for a good chicken substitute, because i simply adore tofu in any form... so good for ya! but all the chicken i could find was made of EGGS. eep! i honestly don't see the difference between eating chicken and eating eggs.
I'm on my way to veganism: I'm seriously limiting the amount of eggs/dairy in my diet now. I don't buy/wear silk, leathere, fur, down, suede, etc, and I don't eat animals. There's still some things like Eggo Waffles (!!!), cookies, etc that have a small amount of egg/dairy in them, but other than that, I drink soymilk and cook/bake with alternatives.
I don't know if they are available in Canada but as an FYI, where I live, in Boise, ID, my local supermarket carries a line of waffles called Van's (division of the company that makes Veat). At least some of their varieties are Vegan, and they are really good, better than Eggos, IMO. Of course, they are also quite a bit more expensive. Also, while they are also fairly expensive, if they have them in your area, cookies made by Alternative Baking Company ROCK!!! They are Vegan, and the chocolate chunks they put in their chocolate chip variety is to-die-for. YUM!
Does your local store carry Huish detergents? Their main name brand is Sun (laundry soap), and they also make Sun dish soap, CuddleSoft fabric softener, and they are the largest manufacturer of store branded detergents. Huish is listed as a company that does not test on animals in PETA's Compassionate Consumer Guide, and their products are actually usually much less expensive that name brands made by P&G or Colgate-Palmolive, at least in my area.
no such thing as semi vegitarian - might as well as semi carniverous- they r probably best called omnivores -
I am Lacto-Ovo Vegetarian. I have to agree with the folks who pointed out that there is no such thing as a semi-vegetarian. IMHO that whole classification things is seriously bent. There is no good reason to separate the lacto only from the lacto-ovos, there is no mention of raw foodists or the fruitarians.
