3 things you did today...

1. Got up early and posted pix on Photobucket, then got their links and put some up here.

2. Went to a matinee and saw Black or White

3. Biked back and got a snack and took a pic of old ppl texting like teenagers.

 

1. Woke up and realized my brother had taken his TV and PS3 on Superbowl Sunday
2. Made some delicious tea and oatmeal
3. Realized I need to do something. Fast. In order to keep a roof over my head.

 

Went to the gym
got some food
watched tv

 

1. Wrote and posted a really cool essay on my blog.

2. Bought groceries.

3. Finally trimmed my beard

 

1. Did upper body exercises

2. Biked to the bank and made sure my stepdaughter can empty my account if I die.
(Notice that "if." My real name is actually Rob Cullen)

3. Biked from the bank to a movie, The Seventh Son

 

waited for the arrogant heating guy.

1. ate passion fruit for the first time in my life. (i've drunk plenty passion fruit juice and eaten lots of passion fruit cake and ice cream, but never actually had the fruit itself till tonight).
2. almost got into a fight with some random guy.
3. walked around naked in my house, 'cause i made a fire and now it's 35 C (95 F) in here.

 

(Yesterday...)

1. Got a totally weird phone call from some dude claiming to be my long lost nephew (how the hell did he get my unpublished phone number?)

2. Found out my first book of poems (a way slim volume) is being added to the archives of the state library I live in.

3. A really sweet homeless dude offered to help me carry my groceries home. I figured it was better than wasting $5 on a cab, so I decided to go for it. I ended up making a meal for 2, plus gave him $5. He was a total sweetheart

 

Sounds like you had a really nice day. Congratulations on your book being archived. I have a couple of my items archived in the Miami-Dade County Library - Florida Writers room. Gives you a feeling of connection to the community having your words preserved on paper. (Ppl of the electronic age maybe never had the experience of being a published author)

And, speaking of community connection, it is nice when you can interact with a total stranger. When I was hitch-hiking back from SF in 1970, a guy picked me up at nite in SoCal and let me sleep on his couch, gave me cereal for breakfast and took me back to the expressway to I-10. His name was Jose. Back then we were all brothers & sisters in our own community. Nice to see it is being preserved.

Thanks for all the kind words. Funny thing is I no longer care for fame or fortune. All this recognition is based on stuff I wrote more than 10 years ago. I just want to live my life in peace, etc.

Yeah, I think it is wise to treat the homeless like family. I made him a decent supper, and hated to see him go. But my Apt. building will not allow people to stay all through the night (unless they have I.D.), and he did not. So he had to leave my apt. at 10 PM.

Anyway, I'm totally happy to learn that your words are archived in some university or such. You are a very fine writer (and person). And your wise words deserve to be read by future generations big time

 

i hitchhiked through Europe in the summer a couple of years after high school graduation (2004). it happened altogether 5 times, when i was picked up late in the evening, that the guy took me home, gave me dinner+breakfast, a bed to sleep in, and took me back to where i could continue to hitchhike the next morning. some of those guys didn't even speak any languages i spoke.

and i especially remember one guy in Germany, who was on his way out of the country when he picked me up. and he actually offered to leave me the keys to his apartment so that i could stay and get to know the city properly. that was insane. i took him up on it, and i stayed there alone in a complete stranger's apartment for a few days. he was a bit of a hippie type, but still, to trust a stranger off a highway like that...that amazed me.

 

1. Had a beer.
2. Sang along very badly to some old tunes.
3. Text a lot!!!!!!!

 

1. Had a really nice long lunch (and talk) with my best friend.

2. Worried about America.

3. Walked 5 miles in the rain

 

I too worry about America daily. Seems we are like a repeat of the old Roman Empire, slipping into the Dark Ages. Too many ppl with Medieval ideas are in control.

Today, so far:

1) I am having coffee and about to go to work for the last time.

2) Srsly thinking of taking a 10-day cruise to Europe.

3) Contacted a lover in Italy to see if I can visit in May.

 

Three More Things I Did YESTERDAY

1.) Went to work - sent an e-mail to all my co-workers with pix of the last 15 years there.

2.) Contacted a travel agent and arranged a 10-day cruise to Barcelona, a hotel for 3 days there and airline trip back.
(I'm really doing it for the ship trip across the Atlantic)

3.) Went to a going away party my co-workers arranged (that I asked them not to)

 

You deserved more than a going away party, Shale (gold watch would have been really cool), but I'm glad your co-workers showed how much they respect, and will miss you

Yesterday:

1. Watched Go Ask Alice on YouTube. I remember when I thought the diary (and movie) were the real deal. So it's totally weird to watch the movie, now that I know it's pure fiction.

2. Bought lots of Groceries at Safeway.

3. Began cleaning my quite messy kitchen

 

(1)... Woke Up At 5-00am To The Sound Of Rain On My Steel Roof....... Had A Piss

Then Went Back To Sleep......

(2)...Woke Up At 8-00am To The Sound Of Rain On My Steel Roof...... Farted, Rolled

Over And Went Back To Sleep.....

(3)...Finally At 10-00am I Decided To Face The Hostile World......Climb Out Of

My Virginal Bed And Stand Face On To Life......Then On Second Thoughts

I Changed My Mind......

1. Filled out and mailed some stupid Arts tax form that has nothing to do w/me.

2. Got rid of a lot of old stuff in my bedroom closet. Some of the crap I chucked down the garbage chute might be considered gay history, but I was more concerned w/extra space for ordinary things

3. Had a really sexy phone chat with a wrong number. I kid you not
