I felt bad because I only had 3 cents left after I paid for the broom. So I just told him I was totally broke (and kissed his hand on impulse).

1. watched a film in foreign language without the subtitles. very interesting. i barely even noticed there were no subtitles. a hallmark of professional filmmaking -- when you watch it without understanding the language and still get the basic gist of it.

2. did some practice with a katana.

3. bought a whole lot of avocados because there was a sale in the local groceries' store.

I love to watch foreign language films, but I always watch movies late at night (when I'm in bed). So it's sort of hard to read the wretched subtitles. I almost always fall asleep before the film is over, so I end up watching it again.

I admire your ability to appreciate a foreign film without the subtitles. That really is a rare gift

1. Worked on a writing project about my experiences with AIDS since the 1980s

2. Did my laundry - usually do it on Sunday, but today feels like Sunday.

3. Went to the nude beach to get out of the house. It was surprisingly pleasant considering it was 94 degrees F. here today. There was a nice breeze off the ocean that made it tolerable.

I was worrying about you since it had been a while hearing from you.

1. Went to work

2. Actually did work to catch up since I am now only going in for 3 days a week.

3. Came home & went online to see what's happening in the world.

Business owner duties

 

Today was busy.

1. Biked to the finance person in North Miami (4.5 miles) to get my taxes done.
Gonna get about $600 back, but I have just started working part time and my Social Security will be my biggest income this year, so I decided to get my income tax on those checks witheld so I won't have to pay back next January.

2. Went home, had lunch and biked to the Social Security office in SoBe. (5.5 miles in the other direction). It was still early afternoon and I planned to take in a movie a couple blocks away, but when I got to the office discovered I didn't have keys on me. Couldn't lock my bike so hid it behind a fence - took care of business and then biked back home.

Biked 20 miles today.

3. Got home and the maintenance man let me in the gate. My keys were in the door lock. I had left in such a hurry I forgot to lock the door and retrieve my keys. Came online and uploaded my pix from a July visit to Missouri on Photobucket then linked them to a thread here. (The facebook links that originally worked all went dead).

 

Totally weird day (Sat).

1. Ended up talking about a very talented dead poet I once knew on public radio.

2. Felt so totally depressed after the show, that I ended up getting drunk (alone).

3. Carted off a bunch of empty bottles to the recycling place.

P.S. Shale, I'm glad your bike was still safe and sound after all was said and done
