In no real order... Neil Young & Crazy Horse/Buffalo Springfield/Crosby, Stills, and Nash (and young) - all of these grouped since they all pretty much worked together throughout the years. Neil Young being the primary person in this case... also because Neil Young is anti-factory farming and founded Farm Aid which donates money to and plays concerts to stop factory farming and help fund and aid organic farms. I also enjoy the politics in his music... especially Keep On Rockin' In The Free World... which was written during the gulf war about the Bush administration. He also has turns down endorsements for guitars. Moby - For his taste and ability to use roots and variable genres on the influence of electronica and somewhat classical music combined... not only because of that, he has excellent (oppinionated by both himself, myself, and others) views and is a vegan and is in support of organizations such as greenpeace. I also toss Dave Matthews into the hat as he is also in the management board for Farm Aid and I love his music as well even though it is mostly alternative-folk with power chords and I really don't like a lot of his audience. I don't care what anyone says, I like him.... I really like him when he does concerts with Tim Reynolds. I also have to toss Ani Difranco, Tori Amos, Indigo Girls... etc. in support and being part of a small backbone of women's rights and feminism stand up and be counted for who they really are in a world of unsupporting bullshit. I pick those as my primary as they truly are one of a kind and I don't know if there would be as many oppinionatedly smart and politically active musicians with good music if they did not exist. You either support my tastes or are against them but I probably won't give a rat's ass unless if you are against them (as I don't feel like starting shit) and I am in a state of boredom to succomb to sinking myself to a lower level to use pot shot insults and sarcasm in an unintelligent debate as I will be too lazy to put forth any effort within the debate to debate against such a stupid person who, if they stick to their beliefs I will give credit to, but they will still be a stupidass in my book, since I have far better things to do anyway. ~ George
Just three!? Damn... Oh well, I'll give it a go. 1. Fleetwood Mac (the old one, with Peter Green.) 2. Led Zeppelin 3. The Who
The Doors The Beatles Bob Dylan The Who, THe Rolling Stones, David Bowie, Janis Joplin, CSNY, Joni mitchel, Joan Baez, etc...
A lot of people like the same stuf... hmm... ok, try and make it 3 favorite bands that nobody else has mentioned (diversity).
this should be interesting... 1)Heart 2)The Doobie Brothers 3)Simple Plan i dont think anyone mentioned those....
theyre alright, prolly the only pnuk/poser band I can stand. I dont listen to them that much anymore tho
Just looked back at this for the 1st time since I started the thread. This is my bad but I meant 3 bands that were still together. Otherwise I would have had Grateful Dead and Bob Marley and the Wailers up there. Alright now 3 bands that are still toghether.
In that case... in no order at all, I hardly listen to any of them, but: Simple Plan Hoobastank Green Day
ok...so led zeppelin aren't still together... change that last one to Jet...even though I've heard the songs a miiiiiiiiiiiiiilion times...bu hey
