/\ i said hes one of the most influential, and yeah there are plenty of influential rappers, not many today tho, Jay Z is good, but he aint too influential, Nas is crazy influential, and many of you have never heard of him, but Saigon is insane, he is a GREAT artist, hands down. but Pac definetaly was one of the most influential ever, i dont see how you can argue it.
More influential: Run DMC Grandmaster Flash Nas Eric B. and Rakim Pete Rock and C.L. Smooth Grandmaster Flash. There are tons more, Rap has a much longer history than you realize.
dude i know my hip hop lol i respect your opinion though, im not one of those fans that still think sugar hill gang actually had the first rap song, and when i see a rap bandwagon, i dont "jump on it" like them lol but yeah but i still think Pac is right up there, he was amazing
Hey canibus are you more interested in commercialized radio rap or underground? Not complaining but it seems most of your favorite artists are really mainstream and theres a lot better rappers out there.
the peson's just not a fan.....like me lol. they're not talking shit cause he's dead; they're ust making it clear they dislike his music. to be honest.....i wouldv'e said worse.lol.(i can't help it- i hate rap and hiphop with a severe passion).lol.
jake dude whart are you talkin about? lol i dont listen to any mainstream hip hop because its all shit now, my favorite rapper is saigon. and he used to be really underground, but hes gettin noticed now, but i just listen to mostly old school hip hop, and underground now, and im startin to listen to old school rock, and just relaxing music now, not all hip hop, i mean there are some alright mainstream rappers, but mostly everyone that has talent has sold themselves out
i said "jump on it" becuase that was sugarhill gangs "hit" single, actually titled "rappers delight", and it was supposedly the first rap song ever, but im saying im not a novice hip hop fan or anything,im saying i know more bout hip hop than ya think, and im not one of the fans that still thinks that rappers delight is the first rap song ever
Yip balls and heart, People like you are targets , we know who you are working for ,and what your agenda is , lol, sucka
tupac was an amazing artists. His lyrics were deep and insightful and he deffinetly put passion and pride into his work. Although i would not say he is the BEST, and i agree he is overexposed, but still, he was a great artist. besides, seeing people with tupac shirts and pants isn't his fault, it's the ignorance of the people wearing them that gets them produced. They don't know why they are wearing the clothes, besides the fact that its a dead, popular rap artist. Underground hip hop is some of the only hip hop that is still... well hip hop. Same with most of the rap today, all of the mainstream is the same bitches and money bullshit, and pointless repetative song lyrics. Although i must say, lil wayne's more serious and deeper tracks, are really good, same with eminem's. But thats just my opinion, i don't even listen to much hip hop and rap anymore.
tupacs new songs technically arnt that new, he had them recorded previously, they jus add a new beat, an extra artist and a new title. tupac is no longer the rapper we know and love. hes a marketing item. the more they market the more they sell. Also search up Tupac shakur foundation. the guy was awsome, lyrically and in personality . its a shame he passed before he was finished on what he had to say to the world.
ummm hes far from whack. He was one of if not THE most influential rapper of all time. He has so many great songs, Changes, Thug Mansion, Keep Ya Head Up, Ain't Mad At Cha, just to name a FEW. now, in my personal opinion i think the man is amazing, but a little overrated. I dn't think hes the best rapper of all time. Hes fantastic, but i honestly think immortal technique, Lil wayne, Jay-Z and Big are better as far as SKILLS and lyrics go.
tupac was real and genuine. you just lil wayne is more skilled than tupac? lil wayne is straight garbage. he is fake. music is self expression... and nobody expressed emotions better than tupac. and you could tell his emotions were genuine, not some fake front. he informed the ghetto.. modern day mlk. and his last album was his best. that never happens in rap... but his last was his realest and best... not to mention that it was made in a week..one of the last weeks he lived. he was on some political shit. the don killuminati was more than just a title. he was on a movement against the illuminati that he read about in jail. not to mention his new rap name was makaveli, after the political theorist machiavelli. and he was educated on his shit. here's a list of books he read, most of which were in jail. http://www.alleyezonme.com/tupacsReadingList.phtml he was educated on freemasonry, even read 1984. he was trying to save the black community, he really believed in the illuminati and what not.. he even mentions them in his lyrics, released after he died. wow i just had deja vu btw. he was substance over style..unlike most rappers, or artists. he is overrated now though, because of the way he's marketed. if you don't understand tupac, you don't understand music. he was self expression and nothing more. the only album i really didn't dig was all eyez on me.. even though it was good, it was mostly style. he said it was a album was "for suge" to thank suge knight for bailing him out of jail though. not mention he wrote all his lyrics on the spot, in train of thought. no other rapper could be cohesive and informing like he was if they wrote on the spot. most rappers write their shit before hand. some of the replys here really made me lose faith in humanity. "some say the expect illuminati to take my body" nobodys quite sure how he died... but thats definitely something that needs to be considered. and please listen to some tupac besides the same few songs that repeeat on the radio.. most of tupacs best isn't even popular. and to whatever dumbass said that tupac had bad production, he didn't even make beats idiot.. and even if you're just talking about the producer, tupac probably worked with a bigger variety of producers than any rapper. did all his producers manage to suck only when working with tupac, or are you blinded by hate/jealousy/etc.?...definitely the latter. http://youtube.com/results?search_query=killuminati&search=Search
he wasn't the most influential ever, but there's too many tupac rip offs lately to say that he isn't one of the most influential. fuck, why am i even arguing why tupac was influential? isn't it obvious?
try expanding your taste outside of what you hear on the radio. and if you asked somebody why they were wearing a tupac shirt, you'd probably be the one getting made fun of.

Pac in my opinion was a good rapper. It is ok if you disagree, you can think whatever you want. The truth is, that most people who like rap consider him one of the best point blank period. Jay Z happens to be my favorite. And I agree he was very influential, as was Pac. To be influential you must influence people, the more you influence the more influential you are. Simple as that. They both touched many lives and have had many kids and adults try to be like them and do what they did. Denying that they were and still are influential men is just ludacris, no pun intended.
