2nd Amendment Protest

It seems to me as tho' the world at large is based around guns now a day. The bigger the gun you have the more power comes with it . Both physically an' emotionally. I don't agree with what our government does to us. But I do acknowledge that we still live in the best country in the world. What I am worried about is all the obvious signs that our nation an' our government are waving that are leading us closer an' closer to a socialist society. Instead of protesting those who are tryin' to take our guns away I think we should be tryin' to make the point that if they can take our weapons we should be able to take theirs. After all the people have more power than the president, congress, senate, an' millitary combined. If it weren't for us they wouldn't even be able to exist......

bah. socialist my ass. We're not moving towards true socialism at all. We're talking about socializing everyones basic needs, because the wealthy people in this country have a HUGE majority of the money, and the poor do not have enough to adequately take care of themselves...Us being one of the superpowers in the world, its NOT right that we can't take care of our people. We feel like we can run around the world "helping" people (obvious alterior motives) and we can't really help the people who live here...its bogus.

The people have the powers that the constitution grants us, and mainly the right to vote...when elections are being rigged, this power is stripped. If we needed a revolution, we needed it 7 years ago, but everyone was silent then...We've been through 7 years of pure shit, and though it doesn't seem to be getting better, I honestly think it will be once this group of criminals is out of the white house.

Spanning thousands of years, martial arts masters from every continent typically have one thing in common that is fundamental in all their training, and that is martial arts are used only for defense, never for attack.

Same applies to guns.

 

In China you can't have a gun but they didn't say I can't have a flamethrower.Actually I have a Japanese Long Bow that I won in a tournament last month in Tokyo. Guns are far from any martial arts, matter of fact they are(guns) for people who have no hand to hand fighting ability.And as for the lad who said I have anger issues, Yeah, guns killed 5 of my friends so far in a 2 year span.

 

"Based around guns now a day..." - Much of human civilization has ALWAYS been based around weapons of some kind... Nearly everywhere people are living on land that was taken by force at some point in history.

Actually I really hate using all these terms for things that divide people. I was raised in the time when everybody was scared to death of "communism", but I never actually understood what was so bad about it either. I think you can take ANY political concept and demonize it for a certain agenda. Look at AMERICAN DEMOCRACY for example, bastardised beyond recognition and looking mighty evil at the moment.

Not many care to exercise this power, and it takes nearly everyones input to have an impact. "The people" could overthrow the entire system without any weapons what-so-ever, by simply refusing to participate any longer in the governmental organized crime/con game which we live under. But how do you get enough people to do that all at once?

All things in life have two sides to them. Good an' evil. But all things also have the potential to be used better than what they were meant for. I guess you really can't classify guns themselves as "bad" because it isn't the gun doing all the killing it's the brain behind that gun. I agree with K7leetha that guns are only tools. But I still think that the world would be better off without 'em man. 'Course if you think about it once guns were taken away what would replace them???

 

Just go back in history. If guns were "taken away", the cops and the military would still have them, and if we (the people) REALLY needed weapons for protection or whatever, we would have to go back to swords and crossbows, knives and clubs...... While the military and the police advance to even more deadly weapons.... In other words, we go backwards while they move forwards... So, I think the implementation of gun bans for the masses is the beginning of the end of whatever balance there is left between those whose jobs require guns and those that don't.

What is the difference between black an' white? So what if some are better than others at certain things. It really shouldn't matter man. We're only different skin colors but in the end we're all the same.

Race classifications. Just another way to keep folks divided and at each others throats. I swear, humans tend to be SO shallow, allowing appearances or different belief and cultural systems to dictate our personal attitudes. THAT is one of our biggest downfalls as a species. I can't imagine that ANY rational and thinking human would want anything for themselves and their lives that is SO different from what everyone else would want. Happiness, security, the ability to live without fear. You could go deeper into these concepts, but it should be unnecessary as most of us are smart enough to know what these things entail. Everything else is just window dressing, division, and stuff to argue over. IF we could stop trying so hard to point out the DIFFERENCES in humanity, but instead find the SIMILARITIES, we would have more power to change those things we cant accept. And we would find that a lot of those things we "don't like" are really not as crucial as we thought, simply personal opinions. THEN we can begin to see a clearer picture of those things that really are simply UNACCEPTABLE for life. Looked at that way, there certainly would be a lot less "problems" which need to be "controlled".

 

Well I have to disagree with some of the posters who do not believe that Americans should not have the right to bear arms. As a member of the NRA and a avid hunter here in Louisiana, owning guns is the norm around these parts. Americans have the right to own and defend their property and lives with firearms. We use guns during the regulated awesome hunting seasons here for Deer, Ducks, Doves and all other sportsman hunting activities. You need guns to keep the animal populations in check during season. In Louisiana you have many schools that close down prior to the opening days of Deer and Duck seasons. It is the traditional way in some areas. Also we have the Shoot the Burglar Law. It allows guns to be used at any opportunity for protection of your property and you can use deadly force to defend and kill the perpetrator with no questions asked. Americans should always be able to bear arms and any attempt to try to take that away is futile and UN-American. Being able to own a gun makes me Proud to be an American filled with Patriotism.

Let's all protect our homes and families from deer, ducks and doves, while we let our congress erase our constitutional rights in the name of protecting us from terrorism.
