But how the fuck can the NSA track someone half way around the world and arrest them for downloading an illegal copy of Perry Como's greatest hits and yet lose a 777 with 200+ people?

10 to 15 years ago a pro-golf player died in a plane that lost cabin pressure. Everyone on the plane died and the plane kept flying until it ran out of gas and crashed. Can that happen on these big planes?

 

Somehow I knew Obama would get blamed for something in a thread about a Malaysian plane crashing.

 

The Wall Street Journal reports that national security officials believe the plane flew for four hours after losing contact, based on data automatically transmitted from the Rolls Royce engines. Malaysia and Rolls Royce denies it.

Some people apparently believe the plane flew for thousands of miles in order to be used later for terrorism. I don't really believe this, but it's scary.

 

the plane is in the water, broken up in a few hundred pieces. the cell phones are ringing because it goes thru the network. try tossing a handful of stones into a large cloudy pond with your eyes closed. now, go look for them. ever flown a kite as a kid? you keep buying string to get it to go further, eventually the string breaks a mile away, you can see it, but it will take a long time finding it..

Interesting that the phones are still on. Because I'm pretty sure they've all received about 400 frantic calls. My cell phone battery sure doesn't last that long, while roaming, receiving so many calls, and without being charged for a week.
