Thanks. The scenery is breath-taking in person. Skip, the last movie was shot about 100 feet East of where the van was parked. I just walked to the edge of the bluff and shot the movie.
If anything could ever (never will happen lol) convince me to cross the border again, it would be to go see places like that.
I'll take the time to read up on some of your great travel events, TwoDogs. But I don't have the time at the moment; this is my first visit to this thread. I did catch your story about the corpse though. It reminded me of the time I reported a grass fire that was spreading to an old farm house. The day after I reported it I was questioned by the deputy and fire marshall. Later on, they accused me of fabricating the whole story and I was interrogated with the whole good cop bad cop procedure. Punishment for doing good, eh? Go figure.
Cross the borderyou sissy. Yep...it seems that when dealing with the law...no good deed goes unpunished. Thanks. It's my pleasure, Desert Girl. Actually it was '86. It was close to 22 years when I first began this thread.
A very large amount of laws would have to change before I did that... and it doesn't seem like that's going to happen anytime soon. But I'll make you a deal... the day that I can drive from here to there smoking a joint without getting busted... I'll be there... lol
As far as Tom goes, he can do that now with a little leg work and avoiding the feds. I watched as Arizonians voted for the new MMJ law and am very relieved to see it passed. I might be able to find a place in the desert for myself after things are finished with my wife. I don't want to get anxious or rush things because I'ld rather have her than all the gold in Arizona. i will still keep up with your travels and exploits till the end comes andthen see where my head is at. Hopefully, the years of waiting will let me get things settled inside before it happens and I will be able to just keep on keeping on. Good luck with your kournies and see ya someday, maybe. Terry
Happy Thanksgiving Bro JC, Glad to hear that you at least found some gold. I know that has got to be exciting. I am currently in Indiana for Turkey Day, but will be head back to Phoenix next week. I did get that job in Prescott, so I will be working on getting all my credentials set up and in order so I can start that one soon. Love those pics!
Thanks so much for the updates and the photos. The one where your dog is watching the storm blow in is amazing. Love your videos. You're so funny. Diggin' your music (especially on parts 4 and 5)! Hope you're enjoying your Thanksgiving wherever you are and that you have a safe winter. Good luck as always and God bless.
This thread really re-captures my love of Arizona and the people of her lands, thanks two dogs for making it happen and having the staying power to keep us all connected :2thumbsup:
Two Dogs I just reconnected to your blog, last time I read it was a few months ago. Wow, some really great photo's and dialog. Hope you had a good Thanksgiving and I wish you luck in your prospecting.
Come on Tom, are you going to let your habits keep you from doing something you might enjoy? I do, however, understand letting a substance rule aspects of one's life. I'm a cigarette addict. Right back atcha kenwilkes! Terry, drop by the Verde Valley if you make it this way. Thanks Bernie. Glad to hear about the job. Sounds like we'll be able to get together and Skwert will have another chew toy besides me. My pleasure FITD. My Thanksgiving Day was pleasant. I hope yours was also. You're welcome DTD. It's really my pleasure, though. AZ. is a beautiful place and except for a small number of backwards thinking individuals that unfortunately happen to be in power, it's really a wonderful place to live. Thanks Papabob. I had a good T-Day and hope yours was a good one as well.
Some of you watched the movies of my slow crawl up to my spot on Sugarloaf. That trip was all about exploration, long hikes with the dogs and beautiful scenery. Here's a typical mundane Monday morning when I leave the welding shop in Prescott Valley, (5000 feet) drive over Mingus Mountain, (7023 feet) through the old mining town of Jerome (5200 feet) and drop into Cottonwood. (3500 feet) You'll get to share some exciting events. A dog walk in Jerome and me getting gouged at the gas station. Saddle up for a boring ride!!! http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm1.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm2.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm3.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm4.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm5.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm6.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm7.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm8.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm9.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mmme.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm10.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/mm11.MOV
Great videos, JC. Some of the footage reminds me of the High Road to Taos. Thanks for taking us with you on your journey!
I met a girl at a party last night from Tucson, she was telling me about a beautiful place called Chelly canyon ole shelle or something like that do you know it? She mentioned it was truly outstanding!
Enjoyed those JC, smooth running van. I have two dogs myself and often stop to let them run. Keep on keepin on man
