The transmitters are up on the highest mountain around, pretty close to 8000 feet, as long as I can see that mountain I'm cool. Thanks dude. It's the only life for me.
Well folks, it's that time of year again, and since I'm no longer doing the swapmeet, I'll be spending more time out in the boonies and have infrequent internet time. I do promise that when I am around access again that I'll answer all posts. Here's something to tide you over. If you people enjoyed the short ride with J.C., you might like this longer one. The first 6 movie clips are of the ride to the place where I hang out on Sugarloaf. (If you've been to my website, or read this entire post and have seen the pics, you know what Sugarloaf is all about.) This is an old flagstone mining road. It doesn't look as bad in the movie as it is in real life, but will give you an idea of the roads I drive. These are QuickTime files, so you'll need that or a viewer program compatible. The files are rather large, 40 MB to 95 MB, and might take a while to load. It might be easier to just right click, hit "Save as," download and watch them all together. Unfortunately, 'slroad7.MOV,' the final one of the drive is 144 MB and I didn't have time to upload it to my website. The last clip, 'slroad8.MOV,' is the smallest and shows my view from the bluff. http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad1.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad2.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad3.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad4.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad5.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad6.MOV http://jayeffcee.com/movies/slroad8.MOV

Hey Brother JC, Thanks for the videos. I got the first one watched so far. I will get to the rest, but it is rather late and I have to make a pickup in the morning. Hope you and the pups had a great time up there. By the way, what are you using for a video camera? Oh, and good luck with the Gold Prospecting. Rock On  :drummer:
Yeah, I hear that gold nuggets are in the area of $1,500 per ounce right now! Brother JC, find a van load!!! That should tide you over until next years flea market season! Keep Dig-N :seeya: Bernie
Hello dude, just joined the forum so I could say hello and wish u luck on the prospecting. I have thought about doin same for several yrs but have to keep pluggin away on alt energy projects, mostly in CA. Lived off the grid in hi-desert area in So CA, outside Victorville, for a couple of years in an abandoned house then a small trailer with a couple of friends. Saw that you got out that way sometimes and Ive also seen that a lot of ppl are lookin for free campin spots in So Cal. I would suggest settin up between Phelan and Lancaster, on the southside of the 138 at the base of the San Gabrield Mountains, there are a ton of places you can "squat" on for either short or long term. Thanks for your great blog, lookin forward to more and sharin. take good care, ez
Thank you for the kind words. I found some interesting stuff. I'll comment and post pics later today. Thanks Bernie. I'm using my Nikon CoolPix L-110 for the videos. Same camera I use for the pictures. Thanks dude. No such luck this time. Did find a little clinker and somefines. Hello right back atcha. I'm glad you are enjoying this and thanks also for your info.
Here are some pics from my trip to Sugarloaf. Where I'm headed. Red Rock/Secret Mountain Wilderness. Robber's Roost. Yes...the one Zane Grey wrote about. He was a local. The peak where my father's memorial stone sits.
Back down on the road I drove looking at where I'm parked. Can you spot the van? Bingo!!! Skwert rolling around on deer leg bones.
You know you've had a good walk when you can tire out the puppy. Squall moving across the valley. The end of a good day.
I watched the last movie. What a place! Nobody around, no sign of humans anywhere, great! Is there a road to that spot or did you have to hike up?
