That 40% has been steadfast throughout this whole debacle of a Presidency.

I just can’t fathom what they see in this narcissistic POS, there’s just nothing to like..............

    He’s not a great orator
    He's a racist
He has no empathy towards others
    He’s a megalomaniac
He has a canary nesting on the top of his head (ok, that’s kinda cool)

Nothing. And the companies that pay NO TAXES should have to kick in their share. Loopholes for the rich have to go.

    Huh?

"Republican deregulation"? Who, when are you talking about, better not be going back to Reagan

But handling of the GFC was a joke, and not just the US, most countries bailed out the shit banks, should of let them slide, you'll be paying interest on that forever

10, 20 years from now, no one is going to refer to 20/21 as "The Trump recession"

You can't even articulate how his handling of the virus was negligent. That China travel ban on the 31st January was one of the most important steps, that probably did cut the death toll in half. Most of everything else is up to your state governors

This is kind of evidence that safety measures work and don't crash an economy don't you think? So counter to your right wing argument that business need to ignore the virus or close. I mean it's certainly not Trump himself doing this and I suppose that is your argument:tearsofjoy:

The reality is your figures depend on the type of work. Pay is still too low in America and does not count long term unemployed. The people who either are not working or working minimum wage for a 1% CEO is more like 15-20% of us right now.

If someone works 10 hours a week they are not unemployed and it's a very common practice in America to not offer full time (because benefits make share holders mad) but have a large staff who all work 1-2 days a week. You will not see the same person twice in a mall shop or Burger King. Many of these people have a few of these jobs which really skew the numbers.

It helps right wing politicians to argue their policies work.

So, you admit then, that Trump struck the right balance between protecting the economy and guarding against the virus

That is what you are saying

Seems to me he's saying the opposite, or should be. Trump, as he made clear in the taped interview with Woodward knew about the dangers of the virus, but deliberately downplayed them so as not to cause panic (i.e.., not to rattle the stock market and the economy). By pursuing a policy of denial and minimization, he increased the incidence and fatalities from the virus, thus damaging the economy in the long fun. It remains to be seen for how long. 8.4% is worse than the great recession of 2008.

Man arrested for allegedly firebombing a California Republican women’s club’s office

A 23-year-old California man has been charged with attempted arson for the May 31 firebombing of the East Valley Republican Women Federated office in La Quinta, according to reports.

Carlos Espriu, of Palm Desert, allegedly broke windows with a baseball bat at the office before lighting three Molotov cocktails on fire

Surveillance video captured the assailant coming back to the office after the bombs didn’t light – he threw them again causing the building to catch fire.

He was finally tracked down 3 days ago.

The unemployment rate was higher under Reagan in December, 1982: 10.8%. Obama was coping with recessionary trends starting at the very end of the G.W. Bush administration. Unemployment peaked during his first year in office and declined after that. Besides, that was then, this is now. Trump's inept handling of the Covid crisis, documented in the Woodward tape, intensified the virus problem which caused the recession. Unemployment reached 14.7% in April and now is "down" to 8.4%, compared to 6.9% under Bush following the great recession. Spin it as you wish. Lots of people unemployed or underemployed aren't going to be blaming it on Obama!

You are still yet to explain how Trumps handling of the virus was inept.

The experts told you to back in March to expect 1.1 million deaths in the US by August 1, even will full restrictions in place, 2.2 million without, instead, there were 160,000

That drop in the unemployment rate is very dramatic. The biggest fall on record. Putting the US in a far better position than many other regions in the world to be able to handle the next 18 months - 4years. No vaccine is going to do much for the attrition rates for 70+ yr olds

It was the correct covid response, exactly the right balance

    He
Bull. He misled the public, at first using the term Hoax; then minimizing the problem, saying it will just go away with warm weather; seldom wearing a mask; holding rallies of unmasked people. I saw people at one of them this week being interviewed: one said the virus was a hoax, another scoffed at the idea that wearing a mask would do any good. As a matter of fact, you've been saying much the same, along with your Social Darwinist noises that 70+ year olds are expendable. But Trump, unlike you, admitted he knew of the danger in February--that it was "deadly stuff"-- and deliberately played it down. Five months ago Trump predicted that between 50,000 and 60,000 Americans would ultimately die. Over 194 thousand deaths in the U.S. from Covid (and yes, I count deaths resulting from other complications as Covid-related if the virus was the precipitating cause. The death rate for the U.S.is higher than the 116 thousand American lives lost in World War I and the 104 thousand troops killed in every war since the start of the Korean War. And the deaths go on. There is nothing Trump has done to control the virus, and he had lots of chances. Forty millllion people watched the State of the Union address. Bob Woodward commented; "He had an opportunity ... He said, 'Well, we're doing everything possible.' At that moment, if, like Franklin Roosevelt after Pearl Harbor, [Trump] had told the American people the truth, a lot more could have been done." Woodward says: Historians are going to be writing about Trump's lost month of February for tens of years.
Woodward: Historians Will Write About Trump's ‘Lost Month of February'
Bob Woodward: Historians will write about Trump's 'lost month of February' for decades
Bob Woodward: Historians will write about Trump's 'lost month of February' for decades

He's appointed Dr. Scott Atlas, a neuro-biologist who specializes on brain imaging as Covid-19 advisor, mainly because he praised Trump. Atlas was the one questioning masks, saying children can't spread the virus, and that it would be good for more people to be infected so that the country will reach herd immunity. You might think this is great advice, but nobody who knows anything about the virus does. That policy was a flop in Sweden. Trump's rush for an October surprise of a vaccine before the election risks bypassing safety protocols and exposing the public to more danger. Many other countries have a similar record of lower death rates. Canada's is less than a third of the US rate. South Korea, Taiwan, and Singapore have also outperformed us. Other nations developed test kits and went into large-scale testing weeks before the U.S. The CDC sent out faulty test kits in February and red tape kept the issue from being resolved quickly. Trump long delayed invoking the Defense Production Act, forcing governors and mayors to compete for scarce PPE, ventilators, test kits and other medical supplies. And the virus marches on, with more rallies, school and college openings and similar events guaranteed to spread it far and wide. U.S. Has Its Deadliest Day in More Than Two Weeks: Virus Update I'm surprised he hasn't given you an appointment yet to handle to crisis. You two see eye to eye, and Trump loves sycophants.
