    But to get a true comparison, you need to compare the total population in 1933 against the total population now.

    "How Many Attended Trump’s North Carolina Rally?"

    They are saying 10,000... Looks to me it's closer to 1000.

    Bigly...

    While it looks good for now, it's the 6 swing states that will ultimately decide who wins and who loses.
    Biden is currently leading in those 6 states, but his lead is tentative.

    Biden leads Trump by 12 points nationally among likely voters: Reuters/Ipsos

    NEW YORK (Reuters) - Democrat Joe Biden leads President Donald Trump by 12 percentage points nationally among likely U.S. voters, according to a Reuters/Ipsos opinion poll that also showed the number of persuadable voters had shrunk compared with four years ago.

    The Sept. 3-8 poll, released on Wednesday, found 52% of likely voters planned to support Biden, while 40% would back Trump. Three percent said they would vote for another candidate, and just 5% said they remained undecided with less than two months to go until the Nov. 3 presidential election.

    Trump likes being an asshole. Being one could never be so rewarding in the current climate.

    Whoopdedoo! The unemployment rate when Obama left office was 4.8%. During the 2008 recession it was 6.9%.

    So his personality is more important to you than what gets done, what actions get taken?

    You'd rather a President that tucks you in to bed at night and bullshits you that everything is going to be OK

    Bidens action plan on the virus seems to be exactly the same as Trump's, his action plan on the economy is non existent, and a few more windmills will solve climate change apparently. But just as long as he makes you feel better

    Let's see. The recession of 2008, which began under G.W. Bush, was a result of a banking crisis brought on by Republican deregulation. It takes awhile to get a mess like that straightened out, especially in the face of implacable Republican obstruction. The Trump recession was a result of his negligent handling of the Covic-19 crisis--essentially following the foolish policies you've advocated. The progress since then is largely a result of Fed policy. We're by no means out of the woods, and it remains to be seen whether Trump's encouragement of premature "back to work" will help or hurt in the long run.

    Yes, economic stimulus to recover from Republican recessions costs money. Trump, not through his first term yet, has added already $6.6 trillion to the debt, mainly to help corporations and billionaires. The CBO predicts the deficit will reach $3.7 trillion for just this fiscal year, and the approval of a second relief package could raise that figure much higher.

    What has Trump gotten done and what actions has he taken--constructive, that is? Certainly not what he promised us. Anything good that's happened during his term has been done mainly by the Fed. As for Biden, among other things he wants to:
    • Raise the top income tax rate back to 39.6% from 37%;
    • Raise top corporate income tax rate to 28% from 21%;
    • Tax capital gains and dividends at ordinary rates for those with annual incomes above $1 million;
    • Apply Social Security payroll tax for those earning above $400,000 a year;
    • Impose 15% minimum tax on book income of companies with at least $100 million annual net income;
    • Tax profits earned from foreign subsidiaries of U.S. firms 21%.
    Not exactly socialism, but not chopped liver either. A second stimulus plan similar to the one the House has approved is already in the works, if the Senate doesn't come on board beforehand .

    Interesting that, according to the weekly poll averages on Trump approval compiled by Realclear Politics, that's almost consistently been the breakdown of disapproval--approval on Trump since he took office--more like 53% disapprove, 43% approve! In fact, I think it sets some kind of record for consistency. Trump is the only president in recent times not to win majority support, but to retain a steadfast following of about two-fifths of the electorate.

    Well see. What, BTW, is Trump's economic plan? The Republican Party has no new platform and will run instead on a pledge to support the Dear Leader. How Fascist is that?

    Trump made many promises in 2016 he didn't keep.
    • Mexico isn't paying for the Wall.
    • Trump has not repealed the Affordable Care Act and replaced it with something "beautiful".
    • The $trillion infrastructure program that he promised did not happen.
    • He didn't keep other countries from stealing our jobs; instead.
    That's the record he must run on.
