In the case of Trump, we had some physical evidence, the Access Hollywood tapes, which were explained away as "locker room talk". In the case of Kavanaugh, we had at least one credible witness testifying under oath, and one angry. out of control, rebuttal that confirmed his unsuitability for judicial office. And in both cases, multiple witnesses. In the case of Biden, it's he said, she said--unless more comes out. I put that in the same category as the murders "everyone knows" Hillary committed. But you're right. In the last analysis, it comes down to our subjective assessments. If looking at Biden and his record since the 70s and think it's credible that he's a rapist and this alleged incident is coming to light now after it allegedly happened in the early nineties, by a woman now woring for the Sanders campaign, who says she left Washington in 2018 because of "the reckless imperialism of America and the pain it caused through out the world", came forward last year with an accusation that Joe touched her on the shoulder and "ran his index finger up" her neck and then this year expanded it to using that index finger for forcible penetration. Supposedly, there are two witnesses who haven't come forward. You may give credence to such accusations. That's your right. To make such decisions without substantial evidence, though, risks doing injustices to good people.

Does this statistical analysis (N=136 cases) impress you? Have you heard of the ecological fallacy--making inferences about an individual case on the basis of statistics about cases in general, e.g., most rapists are male so this male must be so inclined.
