So I have a question. Will you vote for Biden if he gets the nomination?

OK to me Biden would be a step backward, he seems to be part of the old guard neoliberal leaning ‘third way’ wing of the Democratic Party.

I don’t think he will bring in the change that the US needs so the US would likely just get another Clinton or Obama type era, a system that is managed a lot better but with the underlying problems not really been addressed.

A stop gap until the next Bush/Trump fuck up.

I could be wrong these are early days (and i'm open to persuasion) but so far rather than policies he seems to be presenting himself as the ‘safe pair of hands’ that can defeat Trump, the man who will not do anything that might upset the neoliberal status quo too much.

It doesnt make a difference if I do or dont, I am firmly in red territory. My state will always be red. I don't have a voice in elections. I'm not in one of those states that may turn blue either, it will never be blue

So in general I vote third party because my voice counts more there in helping secure funding for third parties. But we'll see what ol' Joe says in the debates. He has time to earn my vote

My state being red is one reason I get pumped about primaries, its the only time my voice counts in politics. And I would like to encourage everyone to use their own voice to vote for who best represents them and has the best policies, not just for who has the best name recognition. Let them all work for it and earn your vote!

    This has been a PSA

    Balbus gets it

And it isnt about electing someone who is far left to most of America
It is about electing someone who has the courage to fight to address the glaring problems we have in our country
Infrastructure, for example. Investing in infrastructure is not leftist or radical by anyone's standards. And yet presidents seem to avoid it in their presidency. Obama promised to invest in infrastructure during his campaign and then didnt. At this point i'm just assuming Joe Biden's policies are just like Obamas, until we hear more from him. How does he deserve the nomination if he cant even be trusted to fight for investment in our crumbling infrastructure (and to do it in an environmentally conscious way?)

I would vote for any Democrat as I have lost faith in any Republican.
I have voted for Republicans in local elections in the past, but I'm done with that.
In my view there is no more Republican Party as it has been completely destroyed by Trump and all those who support him. If anyone is still a Republican, they have to answer for Donald Trump.

If you visit the GOP website you will find a list of their core values.
    1. Sanctity of human life. (Best illustrated by separating families and locking children in cages.)
    2. Protecting traditional marriage. (By boning porn stars right after your wife has a baby, paying hush money to cover it up, and bragging about grabbing women by their private parts.)
    3. Support the right to keep and bear arms. (As that has never been an issue, it's guaranteed in the Constitution...why include it?)
    4. Safeguarding religious liberties. (Unless you're Muslim, in which case we support a national database of who you are.)
    5. Ensuring equal treatment for all people. (Especially neo Nazis and racist who are very fine people.)
    6. Freedom of speech and the press. (You know, the enemy of the people, fake news.)
    7. Protecting our national symbols. (Best done by humping the flag.)

Since, in my view, the Republicans have allowed Trump to trash their core values they are nothing but a bunch of hypocrites.
I will vote for any Democrat who wins the primaries.

    What dont you understand?

Infrastructure was just an example, there are a lot of issues that desperately need to be addressed in this country and there's simply not a proven track record that centrists who take corporate funding will go to bat and fight for them.

I used infrastructure as an example because it isnt divisive or leftist and yet there still hasnt been a big push by centrist Dems to improve our infrastructure

This country desperately, desperately needs someone with the courage and conviction to address our problems - problems that existed before Trump and have been made worse not only by Trump but by being ignored for decades by politicians on both sides of the aisle

First of all, I agree with you about the need to improve the infrastructure.
What I questioned was your ability to know what Biden is/isn't going to do.

I'm basing it his role in the Obama administration, I thought I said that. Obama didnt go to bat for an infrastructure bill.

Until Biden releases detailed policies, I can only base my opinion on him on his past record as well as what I know generally to be true of all corporate democrats

Desparation ? It would manufacture an A.I. posing as The Alien , and Space Commander will submit to this authority who
can define the human problem with a multi-dimensional random language generator .

  12. I won't vote if it's Biden vs. Trump. In my opinion, Biden probably cost Democrats the election by running. Establishment Democrats prefer Trump to Bernie. They don't care. They just need someone in office to keep corporate America at the top rung of the ladder.

Infrastructure revitalization is perhaps one of America's most urgent needs and a simple problem to address at the same time.

Earlier I referred to the Federal Aid Highway Act of 1956 . That was an era when both parties saw a need and heeded the President's call to action. Imagine an America without interstate highways, that was America prior to the Interstate Highway System.

In terms of the repairs and rebuilding needed today our nations need is actually greater however we live in a time when if such a proposal is made by a Republican Democrats won't support it ,then if it's made by Democrats Republicans won't support it, each finding the means necessary to say it can't be done at this time.
Who among us regardless of stripe honestly believes we don't urgently need infrastructure revitalization on a major scale ?
Yet our politicians on both sides of the isle fail to heed the call for cooperation in this vital area for the greater good of all.

If anyone here is a homeowner then he /she knows that over time if money, labor, materials and time are not put into the upkeep of a home then it will eventually fall down around your head and so it is with America's infrastructure.

Shame on both their houses !

Obama passed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act which included over 100 billion dollar investment in infrastructure, and $27 billion dollar in renewable energy in 2009.

American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 - Wikipedia

Texas as well as 9 other states now generate more than 15% of their energy from wind.

After 2010, the Republicans controlled the House, and Obama could not get any significant legislation passed. This will be true of any Democratic president. If you want them to not be legislatively impotent, they will now need control of both houses of congress.

Politics is religion when you believe in The Church of Perpetual Prosperity . Trump the Chump is a devotee . His pastors from Florida
personally blessed his Inauguration . Who knows what resistance to that means ? There's your sustainability candidate . Peace .

You know, this is embarrassing lol

I remembered the 27 billion investment in renewable energy
But I didnt realize the Act included 100 billion for infrastructure (which shows how bad its gotten really, that after 100 billion we're still in dire need of upgrades...and i'm really curious how southern states use money earmarked for public transportation because public transport in the south sucks, but thats a topic for another day).

Anyways I had it fresh in my head that he didnt invest in infrastructure because I watched an internet media source, a source I generally trust (with reason, they do generally fact check and provide their own sources for information) run down a laundry list of things Obama promised versus accomplished, and investment in infrastructure was cited

Now i'm going to have to fact check everything else they listed haha

    Thanks for the correction

  20. One thing I like about Joe Biden is the way he shoots from the hip. So Joe doesn't even vet the potential for failure before contacting Anita Hill, who is still not too happy with the way he handled her during the Clarence Thomas affair (pun). Well, it blew up in his face (shocking, I'm totally shocked).

I still think he's a viable candidate against Trump. Look how his announcement has instantly drawn Trump's inner 6 year old. Biden is already living in Trump's cranium. That's money in the bank for media coverage. I'm willing to bet that Biden doesn't stoop like that in reply. Joe isn't "Little Marco" or "Lying Ted".
