I am increasingly alarmed at how we’re all supposed to be ok with the destruction of our economies when there seems to have been other solutions - and saying so automatically amounts to being labeled as someone who is cold or doesn't give a damn. Which generation is really being selfish here?

What other solutions were there when everybody basically willingly hid for their lives? What would have made a difference?

It's just been doing my head in.

It's been like almost everyone in the world. How can they all not see what could at least potentially happen

There can't be that many people in the world that stupid. If it ends up causing WWIII I'm gonna be pissed

A study in France is concluding that there are no cluster spreadings in public transports, they think it is because people are wearing masks..

So, you didnt even bother reading that did you?

"With social distancing, the chances of infection or transmission of these coronaviruses was about 3% when people kept a distance of at least 3 feet from others, compared with 13% when people kept a distance of less"

"However, the authors note that the findings on face masks and eye protection are based on limited evidence. And overall, none of the practices examined in the study fully protected from covid-19"

"Overall, the researchers analyzed information from 44 studies involving more than 25,000 people in 16 countries. (Seven of these studies involved COVID-19, 26 involved SARS and 11 involved MERS."

A review is not a study, all they did is read over 44 previous studies, only 7 of which had anything to do with Sars-CoV-2

The article you posted admits social distancing is useless 3% vs 13% daily transmission probability, and thats at 1m

Strangers dont get within 1m of each other usually anyway

The study they are talking about if for the 2002 Sars and conducted inside a hospital, an enclosed space, with a virus no where near as infectious

This is why no one is actually listening to the WHO, they havent even bothered conducting their own studies

If you want to convince anyone, show us the actual studies, and make sure they are on Sars-CoV-2

If social distancing was ever of any use, we would have seen a bunch of cases traced back to people being in elevators together, baseball games, restaurants, an explosion of cases every time 50 people get on a train with one infected

Not just hospitals, nursing homes, cruise ships where the same people spend all day toghether

I wonder if cases are increasing. I went to Cheesecake Factory (restaurant chain...) last night for carry-out and noted they're open for dine-in.
