How bad is it getting where everyone here lives?

It's so strange wandering the city streets during rush hour, and there is simply no one around. Stores are restocking more and better--toilet paper is scare but findable ;).

Our hospitals are filling up fast and new cases are spiking like mad, despite some pretty heavy handed precautions taken by local government.

Today we had our first reported case, that's in Graves county, KY. Small county, only 37,000 live here.

Considering the size of our county, we're doing pretty good, although cases have escalated the past couple days.

I went around and lifted a bunch of tp from restaurants and stores before they all closed their bathrooms so I'm good on that front... Or rear I should say. Grocery stores have some food aisles wiped out but there is food available.

Freeways are relatively sparse, no traffic but there are other cars out and about.

Some areas are really quiet and shutdown while others have a slight sembalance of normalcy.

Practically all restaurants offering take out have taped off designations 6 ft apart. Some places have added glass/plastic barriers between cashiers and customers, or added tables/chairs to extend the space to the registers. Everywhere is closing earlier than their normal schedules.

I think most all the beaches and city parks are closed.

I went out to pick up food the other day and it was my first time out in days, and it sort of spooked me how quiet it was and how empty the streets were.
The governor ordered all non essential businesses closed here today but I think a lot of them were already closed

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, says America could see 100,000 coronavirus deaths.

"In Italy, some 5,000 health workers have been infected, and are dying at a rate of two per day since the first doctor died on March 11. Criticism has been growing over the shortage of protective equipment, with doctors often wearing the same face mask for over a week. La Repubblica reports that in the city of Palermo, doctors and nurses have even launched a fundraising drive to purchase masks. In India, a leading doctors' association has written a letter to authorities pleading for more surgical masks and gloves"

Coronavirus — Global Brief: Why Are So Many Doctors Dying?

There wouldn't be so many doctors and health care workers dying if it wasn't in part about number of times you are exposed in the first couple of days after it first enters your system

Get it the first time, you don't even notice, especially if you are fatigued anyway, the next day you are exposed again, body gets another little dose, and so on until the virus has hit levels that your body can't fight off it otherwise would have been able to if it was just one exposure

You don't get doctors dying all the time from treating influenza patients. It doesn't make sense unless it's about repeated exposure

Which would mean teens are at greater risk if they are locked down with a family member that is infected

Outside NY/NJ, Louisiana is a bit of an anomaly that has the steepest curve out of all the other states

Also, that graph you see in Trump's press conference is that exact same half ass modelling from the University of Washington that uses the same growth rate across the entire country

Tuesday in Massachusetts there were 868 new cases of COVID-19 which brings us to a total of 6,620.confirmed cases.

33 people died today bring the total number of dead to 89. We’re currently on a steep incline so the number of dead will begin to mount up fast.

It’s even stranger when you walk around a major metropolitan city and the streets are as deserted as a scene right out of a post-apocalyptic movie
