Yes but it doesn't actually upset any of us, does it.
You do come across as just a tiny bit infatuated with her.

  2. Yep, like a train wreck. Just can't believe such an abusive person is given free reign to attack all and sundry that have a different opinion.

It does make me laugh though.

  3. At least I didn't compare her to a 6 year old. :laughing::laughing:

That one was kind of disappointing because they skipped over a lot of the dramatic stuff with the War in the Pacific; firestorms in Tokyo, dropping the atom bombs, Midway, Coral sea, Burma etc

They should have done it like the stories of three sets of people Marines: Navy; civilian family in Tokyo

You'll never see Americans direct a movie from anybody else's side though. That's why they only ever really make movies from battles they won or completely make one up, like the end of Saving Private Ryan was just a made up scenario, but they gotta make it so America saves the day etc. Usual American shit.

No one but Mel Gibson would dare make a movie from the start of WW2 when Germany was winning.

Oh, The thin Red Line, that's one I hate liberal pussy crap, 30 second long shots of rain dropping on flowers, Sean Penn saying it's all about real estate, yeah tell that to all the POWs that starved to death

It was even like PEARL harbour I mean they couldn't even just leave it at that they HAD to go and make that dramatic little flyboy mission at the end with these over board wank heroic speeches. :tearsofjoy:

    I haven't quarantined yet.

So far, I'd say about 1/50 people actually wear masks in public in this town.

It was based on the memoirs of 2 marines. So they couldn't really take that macro view. It was always supposed to be Leckie and Sledge's stories. But... WW2 is so huge and expansive you could almost never run out of stories to tell. I hope they do more series and movies. Would be nice to see other parts of the war given the spotlight. I agree

But I probably wouldn't be able to handle a navy movie or series. I'm terrified of the ocean and the idea of dying at sea is what nightmares are made of

    Yeah, stressful times though eh

She is allergic to the flu shot, you just got your first cases in her hometown.

She knows she's going to be a little more susceptible to this than you or I

Both sides, just hug it out

Now, after saying that, back to my pessimistic posts about lock downs not doing shit

That WW2 in colour, on Netflix here anyway, I think that's the best one so far, goes into everything that usually left out Montenegro, Burma, Phillipines

Ooh! Letters From Iwo Jima, big Hollywood movie made by Clint Eastwood and told the story about the battle of Iwo Jima from the Japanese perspective. The Americans were the "bad guys " in that movie

Does it? I haven't watched yet cuz the descriptions all mentioned the usual suspects only... Pearl Harbor, D Day, Battle of the Bulge, etc. I'll have to actually watch it.

The War is pretty good too. I saw multi part documentary on Prime the other night that was surprisingly balanced and nuanced and even had the audacity to call out America's mistakes and how gunboat diplomacy in the 1850s led to war with Japan in the 1940s

The latest numbers: The novel coronavirus has infected more than 244,500 people and killed over 10,000 worldwide, according to Johns Hopkins University,
which is tracking cases reported by the World Health Organization

Well I took the challenge and had a couple of Corona beers last night and I woke up fine. No virus. The beer tasted shit but I didn't catch anything.

I dont really drink very much at all anymore except in the bath
A bourbon, a book, and a bath makes me very happy

Also I've never noticed the thread title is misspelled
