I will fight any man in this forum to death to ensure peace. Are we talking about the problems that do exist in China and have been documented again and again? Don't they shoot for that? And uhm. Tibet wasn't always Chinese. Is that what your saying?
No, no my men. You didn't get me I just said 'let's make love not bombs' - we're freedom fighters, we are killing evil and unjustice with good word and awardness... And I mean that we don't need to devagate if boycott is right or not right --->>> there will be no good from that ---->>> let's just act to show people that we do not want any harm of our brothers and sisters anymore. We do not want political/millitary/gun merchants rules - we want justice/awardness/religion/science ruling us. LET OUR HEART BE OUR MASTER with connection with mind and understanding/compassion. Do not be rapid, do not fire by anger --->>> show other balance in yourself and inner harmony. Do not be frightened to speak loudly and clearly about history, human rights and human basic stuff. - - - - - - - - - W E - - A R E - - - - - - O N E - - - - - - - - - PEACE, your brother from Poland PS.: Do what you can, it's important not to stay in ignorance... Where will be freedom if we all unite.
Now, i'm not a big fan of sports. or the chinese government's actions as of late [or any government really] But i am a big fan of coming together. The Olympics are suppose to be about coming together, putting aside differences, and i think its important that Olympics proceed, even more so now, because we need to show, even though there have been horrible horrible crimes against humanity, that we remain as one body that can share an experience as a planet.
The Olympics have never been about coming together as a world of individual citizens... for the athletes it's all based on winning high paid corporate sponsorships, for the country that holds them it's all about increased revenues, resulting from media and sponorship. Why else would the Olympic committee have granted Nazi Germany and now China the location for them, let alone all the shenanigans that went on in Utah. This is not some utopian vision, it's all about the money. Why none in Africa or South America? http://www.worldatlas.com/aatlas/infopage/olympic.htm Please, note in the charts, some years they were cancelled all together.
I think it seems daft to boycott the China olympics. Fine the government arn't the most cooperative in the world, or the most morally sound. But the main reason they wanted the olympics is to get back the interest and tourists they scared off. Fine they have done terrible things, but equally who are we to judge when we know very little of the story. I say let he olympics be. It will go a head as planned, the athletes will still turn up, and millions will still watch it. Its just one of those things. Good luck with it all non the less.
Sethm13 do you understand the stupidity of that sign? In fact yes we did allow Nazi Germany to host the Olympics in 1936
China rebuked by Olympic Committe for making these statements: http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/asiapcf/06/26/olympics.politics.ap/index.html We're not supposed to bring policitical views to the games, but they don't seem to have any problem doing so.
I am trying to not buy Chinese products when I shop. China makes me sick with it's torture of monks (I'm Buddhist) and killing people for their organs.
Just another example of how attitudes are bent when profits are involved: http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/12/27/business/security.php
you know to say that there shouldn't be the Olympics in a country wouldn't that make you a little communist?
how so? your trying to take away china's right to host the Olympics..isnt that what communists do? take away rights?
I think you better look up the definition of communism. And you should also reflect on the fact that China is a communist country.
