Oh please, like any of it makes a difference anyway Being on an internet forum for 20 years, no dumber than playing golf or giving a shit if the Patriots win for 20 years, or the million other dumb things in the world everyone does
Unless someone feels they need their lives turned around, they don't need their lives turned around. If they don't feel their lives are being squandered, they aren't.
If you spend your time following someone around an internet forum criticizing them I'm not sure you have much room to talk there, buddy
Quite a feat... I cannot imagine being here another decade at the pace of the prior one. I've felt like I had to re-invent myself a time or two due to the transient nature of members and subforums.
It would be a huge waste of my time to follow Rat through these forums. I've just known him for many, many years - so I know the guy and used to have higher expectations of him.
It's just so insulting to have "expectations" for someone else and then to believe they have somehow failed if they didn't live up to YOUR expectations.
Pride goeth before the fall, right on your ass, because ours is the best of all possible worlds, and instant karma's gonna getcha baby! Trust me, breaking your tailbone merely hurts, a lot.
i think its interesting that the internet has existed for less then half my life, and you own computer a person of ordinary means could buy and not have to be an engineering hobbyist to build yourself has existed only a decade longer then that, still little more then half my life. if i'm not mistaken there are at least close to a dozzen of us who have been here since before the year 2000.
Information is crucial for comprehending reality, and nature has doled out information to humanity in dribbles, so we can digest it. The internet is so new because it is rapidly becoming a singularity and people are already debating whether it has obtained consciousness. We went from cavemen to agriculture to technology, and now it is time to consolidate everything. Not because we can, but because nature insists.
No, the internet is not conscious. Geez. Things don't become conscious just by means of being complicated and interconnected, and no one except woo ever talks about the possibility that the internet is conscious.
