You hit the nail on the head. Me and my friends have been talking about this a lot. Wanna solve most of the world's problems? STOP HAVING KIDS! There should be free sterilization programs at every single health department. There are way too many mother fuckers on this planet!

The population is fine, and actully declining, in the parts of the world that HAVE health departments. We need free sterilization in africa, the middle east, and anywhere else people are breeding like rats with no one to give em that little baby maker breaker snip... The former eastern bloc needs to start breeding FAST and stop drinking and aborting themselves into oblivion, or we're going to face a BIG problem, when they all die with no kids to take up the slack, and the whole middle east just walks in and pours a big ass sharia law bucket over everything... Then america will really be screwed, and this time, it will be real, and they actully WILL be evil.

Ehh well we spent the LAST century trying to nuke russia, when they've all got towels on their heads, washington will see no more reason not to.....

I know, I'm not very PC... but I'm honest.

wtf?! the reason people in impoverished countries often have many children is because they need those children to survive. fucking eugenics is not a viable or ethical answer!

Not a very good reason to bring a child into the world, disgusting in fact. But I agree, no one should destroy their body. They should just be more responsible with how many kids they have

Using oil for energy is a massive misuse of the world's most important resource. Oil was gifted to the human race so we could make trinkets to amuse us and divert our thoughts away from bad things.

Without oil we won't have Ipods, massive teevees, cellphones, designer trinkets and baubles and most importantly, no jet fuel to fly away to somewhere exciting for a week to forget about how shitty our real life is.

So stop driving around aimlessly to amuse yourself. Think of the Ipods!

Seriously though, there's enough coal left to power the world for centuries man! Hubbert set the peak at 2150 and energy watch has it set at 2025. Since they're probably both wrong let's just say, um, 2080 or so is peak coal.

So, not a damn thing will change enough in the next decade to worry about. Unless you mean trivial stuff like global confrontations over little things like having enough water to grow enough food to feed your 1.4Bn+ people.

Naw, the world leaders are smart enough to trade Ipod credits around for food 'n water and stuff. The future never looked brighter!

There will be hardly any change by the year 2020..cinemas, music stores, DVDs, Lightswitches, windows etc will still be here, look exactly the same. Electric cars may just about be available to joe average but thats about it. I dont think we will loose many species. I will do my best and hopefully other organisations will make sure that we dont loose any of our beautiful creatures forever.

I love the feeling of walking into a record store or movies tore and visually looking at the package and holding it in my hand. It's more fun then reading as description on a TV screen. Also, these give the opportunity to get out so it's great for a homemaker like me! I hope that record stores and movie rental shops stay in business!

I prefer downloading music as you can listen to it before hand in the comfort of your own home over a beer and a smoke. I still enjoying browsing record shops, but I prefer second hand ones as they tend to have more interesting surprises in store. I also like to own hard copies, I'm quite big on cds with cardboard gatefold sleeves, like mini records.

Either you are extremely hopeful or you are completely ignorant of all the damage being done as we speak

I was browsing a little bit more- The 11th Hour its corny and hard to get past Leonardo DiCaprio but its a legit documentary and is pretty head on... The human population never crested one billion til we discovered fossil fuels... and ever since the human population has been the biggest pollutant to the earth... The earth was here before us she will survive after us its convincing her that we deserve to be here and we are going to stop exploiting her.... I mean factory farming frickin nasssy ass food for what? So we could have more time to be lazy and sit around twiddlin our thumbs? Technology has made much of the human race fat and lazy because again we've exploited it...
