Anyway *clears throat* back on topic. Freedom is Slavery. . . "There has to be limits on freedom." Now, how can the right wing nutjobs hear that from their hero and still pride America as being this freedom utopia?
What do you think the way forward is though people? I'm a bit of a communist but how does one avoid the top-heavy beuraucratic administration? You can't have a revolution unless we have something to replace the current system with, and we can't have a bloody revolution at all because we are better than that, I think. I think that if there were post codes on all websites and the sites were put into a system where it would convert that information into a map then things would be better. They would have to teach web-design in school or at least invent an easier way to get your information onto the web because then everyone could take advantage of the information sharing that has become available to people who want to buy and sell things but not to those who want to trade things directly. The internet could be particularly useful for skill sharing if you could get in touch with people in your area and arrange to meet up with them - I've tried teaching French over the internet and found it pretty tough! You need to get face to face. And as for things like learning to service a car... Why is cyberspace so entirely disconnected from the real world?
ok, i know this sounds ignorant. but i think my local fox news is either neutral or left. i know it sounds crazy, but they always cover things that interest me like abortion and gay rights, pot laws, and interview mostly democrats. they praise daley who's a dem. i dunno, maybe i am crazy. or is it just the fox news channel that's republican?
I remember 1984, i was in kindergarden or something. I was learning about the letter people and shit. I remember wishing we had cable so i could watch mtv.
I saw the movie, the girl gets naked and she has hairy armpits. I'm sure all the hippies here will love that. i personally dont feel it oppresses women to shave their pits but who am i, a raving madman as told by recent folklore
i doubt im the first to say it but.... i think you're 21 years out...ah hah ha ha ha ha ha hah ah ah ah ah a ha ha.... i hope i didnt make a maths error...
I fell asleep during the movie, but I remember the the dude on the screen was pretty scary looking. I couldn't imagine walking around always seeing his face.
I think it would definitely be a good thing if people became more active. Although in a way, I think tv's are good thing sometimes. It's the only way i get the news because i don't get the paper. I've become more of an activist lately and it actually made me feel better than just sitting home not solving the problems that affect me. - peace
I liekd the book , but it is far from the reality of now. There is freedom just not exercised freedom in my opinion. And in 1984 they had this communist systen happenign which not the case in north america!0 People in the u.s. , canada etc are fortunate but due to the poor intellect ratio people turn commerce into greed and enslave themselves from happiness. The chains are not locked by the system, they are locked by the ignorance that prevails: People who dont question and merely complain. If the masses had a problem with bush, for example, then they have the very right to overthrow him, and that's in the constitution. People need to stop playing victim and get involved.
