Hiking up the Pacaya active volcano in Guatemala, with molten lava just inches below the knarly crusted ah-ah rock under my bare feet. I must admit, this was the most extreme place I have ever gone barefoot. Talk about exfoliation! Even the tops of my feet turned white from the abrasion after running down the steep banks covered in loose lava pebbles.

 

Not to get off-topic again, but could you tell us where that library is? I think that would be helpful to many of us.
