At school labs, when it's too cold or dark, in the grass, snow, in locker room, sauna, pool. Almost everywhere if you don't have done tetanus vaccine. In tropical zone.
Why? I have gone barefoot in most of the situations mentioned (except sauna and school labs, and snow only for a short time - though I know of others who have made day trips away from home in snow and without taking any footwear with them). As for the tropics India and Africa are great places for going barefoot. A few years ago I spent 9 days in Sri Lanka and never wore anything on my feet once.
I've gone barefoot in the Amazon River Basin/jungles over the years and never had a problem. However, I've also helped remove Barbed Catfish from peoples feet when they stepped on them in shallow waters. Also know a local (local USA) doctor who had a parasite enter his bare foot and eventually made its way to his optic nerve = blind in that eye. Safer to be barefoot in areas where there isn't a lot of human traffic or sewage waste.
school is not a good place to go barefoot teachers dont like it you also get a couple weird looks lol but whatever.
Kia Ora Ni Hao! Anywhere where pine needles are plentiful. Also I'm not too keen on barefootin over shale rocks. Cheers!
im doing that all the time on a yamaha xt 600 from 1986 (kick starter only and toothed footrests) both on and offroad . also i cant get what 's evil in pine needles. they make soft comfy carpets that's a real pleasure to tread on and are minimally sharp. know what's really killer to step on ? this little son of a bitch sleeping half buried in low water sand floors with its poisonous spikes pointed up.
surprisingly i got kicked out of the whole foods store here in town....stupid people. i wasnt rubbing my feet on your bananas, back off :/
Yeah, Whole Foods is NOT barefoot friendly. The local store has a very prominent sign against it. You would think of all places, a supposedly earth-friendly store would be ok with bare feet, but no.
not realy.Your soles are very toughned, and you dont feel stones, pebbles etc. When hitting a thorny patch, you just drag your feet, and they dont prick, glass hardly entered your soles, except if it was thickish and pointed and sharp. As bf kids on a farm,we often stepped in nails and fish hooks, and we just yanked it out.I have had many a "camel thorn" stick right through my bare feet, and just pulled it out and carry on our games,it was all part of growing up,and no peculliar barefoot caution was exercized.
I'm barefoot at train stations several times a week (I go everywhere by public transport, I transfer at a rather busy train station twice a day 3 or 4 times a week). I've been approached by a guy who clearly had a foot fetish -said I had very nice feet, and asked if he could rub them- exactly once, and when I said I just walked barefoot and had no interest in anything else he was clearly disappointed but backed off immediately. Don't see what the problem is. I've met guys who were interested in me -not my feet- and who were harder to get rid of, at train stations and other places.
I might be the odd one in the group but I'm okay going into a convenience store barefoot but hate pumping the gas barefoot. It's something about the spent motor fluids on the ground near the pumps
I posted a query to them in a couple of places. I, too, have been "warned." We'll see if I get a reply (almost always it's the "our insurance company requires footwear" response).
