I've been reading this forum a little bit when I stumbled on this thread which convinced me to make an account and post just so I could tell 3xi what a dumb ignorant fuck he is. Listen you close minded douche bag, children argue, intelligent grown ups debate something. Never have I seen you provide rational evidence for your points or any cite of information, just throwing around a lot of verbal diarrea. The only thing I could ever compare you to would have to be an incredibly devout, pious know-it-all Christian who are the worst of all people for forcing their views on their children.

I have personally been awake for 3 days straight from a dose of 5 hits, only in the last few hours of which I felt as if I had finally come off the trip. It was the strongest and probably scariest experience in my life. There were no other drugs involved other than a couple bong hits.

So, that being said, I would say a 4-5 day trip would be entirely possible.

the only times that i have stayed up longer than usual or tripped out longer than usual were the times that i had a particularly difficult trip - one that kept me up tripping for hours with no sleep. now this was an obvious after effect as the lsd 'trip' was very much over but the mind is a very powerful thing and although the lsd is not still causing you to trip your mind can be a real trip. if you come out of a big trip and can not relax enough to fall asleep and have some good acid dreams after 12 or so hours than something is wrong. you need to relax. there are many reasons for why someone can not sleep and not one of those reasons are good unless you are on some good acid - but like we all 'should' know the acid only lasts 12 or so hours. the body needs rest and we all need a good sleep after a powerfull acid trip.


if you were actually awake for three days i would consider meditation as a way to centre and ground yourself - something is very wrong if you can not sleep for 2-3 days after a trip!

 

Yeah, and you just know it all then? Actually I have not tripped in 6 years. But back in the day I probably ate close to 150-200 hits in total over the course of 7 years or so.

Bottom line is there is what you read on erowid.com and there is what happens in real life. You can't say something is 'impossible' when you really have no real argument to back it up.

Biochemistry has a lot to do with it, some people are more adapt to tripping and will metabolize the alkaloids faster than others. In my case I have no way of proving that the drug was or was not still present in my system, all I am saying in my experience is the 'feeling' of the trip was present 3 days later, and it was impossible to sleep. That is the only time I have had a trip last more than 15-20 hours tops. My max dose being 7 hits.

Also the medium in which the acid is contained can effect it.

A large wad of paper in your stomach could easily act as a buffer so that all of the acid was not absorbed simotaneously, it would take a while for your stomach to break it down, so it is possible that some of the drug could be absorbed at a slower rate because of that.

Then, and the effect on your mind could easily be so profound that it misinterpits the siginals that your body is tired and needs rest, therefore you never truely 'sleep'. It is also possible that long after the drug has metabolized and left your body that the mind has not effectively recovered yet and has not gotten out of 'trip mode'. You are talking about such an powerful drug that has extreme mind fucking effects here.

There is not enough reaserach on 'megadosing' out there for you to make such a statement thats all. I would say 8-9 days would be 'unlikely' but not impossile.

10 different people could have a completely different timeline from the exact same dose. It hasn't been done in a controlled environment scientifically with such massive doses, so its all speculation.

 

There is very little scientific data on large doses of lsd. What info I've been able to gather from person experience and from other knowledgeable/experienced folks is that - there is a plateau of effects at around 800mcgs, larger doses increase duration but not effects. There does seem to be secondary higher plateau, when very large doses, 10-50mgs or more, are taken.

 

What I think 3xi is clinging to is the amount of time the chemical stays active in your system, which doesn't usualy last longer than twelve hours, a normal to "heavy" dose (most of what people call heavy is totally weak) takes around 3 hours to burn off, if you dont believe it, screw erowid email the hoffman foundation amin@hofmann.org and ask them, I dare you! (if you dont you're a bigger douchebag than 3xi, somtimes dr. hofmann answers it personaly so if you dont question you're a douchebg even if you dont know it.) it's just that the affects are like a trainwreck on your brain and it takes a while for shit to line back up. Most of us when we talk of effects we talk of the whole experiance, from start(feeling normal). to finish (feeling normal again from personal "mega-dose" (licking plates all day long) experiances you start to think only about the peak platueu, most of the "trip" is a bit of the comedown, if you consider the amount of time you stayed in that "peak" to be the whole of the trip, than the trip length is hella shorter, I agree with that point if that is the point, a hundred hits of lsd wont remain in your your brain much longer than 12 hours, but the trainwreck on your brain lasts a lot longer.
the point I think is over how long the trip should last, the time the chem is in your body doesn't matter, it's how long it affects you, everyone is different and reacts to things different. 3xi isnt a douchebag if he sets all his standards by such a set rule. when I get to canada next (was thinking about hitting it after rainbow in wyoming to get the good beasters) I'll avoid him like the square motherfucker he is unless he is actualy willing to sit down with some random fucker off hipforums to talk acid.
