    The leaves are changing
But it's still hot and humid
    Autumn skips the south :(

    Autumn will soon appear
And with it the whistling winds
    Along with the frigid air

I think there is a famous haiku that goes something like

    frog
    jumps in pond
    splash

So maybe I'm misremembering the haiku, but could there be more than one haiku form?

    Lol :)

I think are other versions but the more popular one is the 5-7-5 syllable one, taking up three lines.

I just tried looking up the Matuso Basho Frog Haiku

    The original is

    Furu ike ya
    kawazu tobikomu
    mizu no oto

which sounds like it could be 5-7-5

    Various translations, but one is

    Old pond
    frog leaping
    splash!

Is it wrong that I count the syllables to make sure all these haikus are correct??

:blush5: (I should keep these things to myself)

    second line 7 syllables

If there are no rules, it would just be a poem.
