since these are combined now wanna fill ya in on my new experimental version of the deep cleanse
took a pitcher added i dunno how much bakin soda maybe 1/3 cup (didnt measure anything just poured) a glob or 2 of aloe gel boutr 2-3 capfils of apple cidar vinager a few shakes of teatree oil and rosemaryoil (maybe 15-20 drop[s each) lil umm it was kosher salt dunno if its same as sea salt but was al my sis had lyin around
skipped the lemon juice cause couldnt find any but thats the thing i leave out most often anyway
i maybe used lil too much bakin soda cause it kinda buerned my scalp lil bit as it ate away all the dead skin n stuff but not too bad and it did a great job
shoulda saved the aloe tho for a seperate rince
    next time..

I don't know if this has been said but since I've got 4A/4B hair I have a good bit of experience with DIY hair and what not.

Baking soda clarifies. So does apple cider vinegar. That's why they get all the gunk out of your dreads. It's getting out oil, wax, dirt and everything. Giving you a nice fresh clean base.

Just some information. Knowledge is power and all that jazz.

Yes I'm sure. Citrus oils work because of the high level of citric acid in them.

And 4a/4b hair is hair like this:

    Basically really really really nappy.

It can. I generally shampoo 2 days a week and then conditioner wash the other 5 days of the week. And I comb the conditioner through with a wide tooth comb. So it doesn't really dread up that easily.

And I generally have only been in salons as a client. I had to do research to figure out what grade of hair I had and how to take care of it.

knotty boy has a de-waxing soap usually used to completely clean your hair before dreading and to wash your hands after you have put their wax in... i put wax in my hair for a week and found it a gross waste of time... i just realized that the de-waxing soap will likely work as a good way to get that build-up out... im going to go use it now, since i have a big bottle of aloevera and lime juice mix i think i'll be using that from now on to tame frizzies... i will let you all know how it goes and post pics...

ah and before i get replies on this i know it says it can't get all the buildup out, but it can't hurt. i'm also going to use the concoction on my hair but i can't get to the store until tomorrow. L

it is used to wash the hair before putting in the dreads, it's a residue removal. all it did was bring some of the wax to the top of my dreads but didnt' bring them out. i'm going to try the other stuff but first i have to go to the store for baking soda. was gonna the other night but i've been sick.
