With Your Heart

With Steady Gaze
You Eye Eternally
The Longest Lines of Fixed Archetypal Construction
And Exclude Those Failed Claims
of Death's Satisfaction

Standing Against the Empty Promise
of Luminescence and the Glow of Shiny Things
the Whisper of Lucent Praise
Those Boxed Objects Seeming Grand
And Grown tired of their Failing

For you have found Treasure
In a much greater promise
With the constance of tree, bone, muscle
or beating heart
as permanent reminders
of the Obvious Fact
That the Grave
Shall Mark
Not the End
But the Beginning
of the Final Journey
Beyond the Canopy,
Which Holds us here, Spellbound
And so the Spell will be Broken
And with it too, the curse of Death

And so Your Treasure is Life
And the Life Which is to Come
Which you Echo and Radiate With Your Heart
