Tribute to Starshyne, 1961-2009

My wife, partner, friend, sweetheart, and co-adventurer in life, Starshyne. She grew up in a small town in IL, was raised on Science Fiction, and we met and fell in love in 1981. We were still very happy and very much in love when she fell ill in 2008... Here are some pics of this kind, intelligent, sensible, fun, adventurous, and stunningly beautiful woman. Yes, a look in her eyes still took my breath away even after decades together. Her loss is deeply painful, yet somehow I'm holding together as she wished. We finally made it to that dreamlike white house with wrap-around porch surrounded by plants that aren't lawn grass, where we could watch storms together... I think we had about 14 days together here.

When Lionheart was a baby, Star held him and comforted him and loved him with all her heart. In this photo, LH offers his mother comfort and love. It was his strength, more than anything, that allowed her to have some happy moments even in her last week
