i actually just read an issue of marvel zombies, the one where they eat magneto then see silver surfer, its fuckin great stuff, good art, and when they finish eating and are just sitting there talking its funniest shit EVER.
what about the zombies in SHAUN of the dead.....??? anyone see that movie?? hilarious. but I like dawn of the dead tho... the original. the remake sucked total ass.
i like the new zombies better, the ones that can run because it makes things seem more urgent, and conveys the fealing or fear and urgency more. dawn of the dead and 28 days latter are my two favorite zombie films, because its less action and more about what people would do in those situations. i do find people act quite stupid... "yay theres a dark hallway.. lets walk down it and just hope to not get bitten by anything on the way" ... i watched land of the dead recently and it sucked. the zombie films are becoming too bloody, and almost comical to watch now, wich is not good in my oppinion
too bloody and comical? in my opinion thats what makes a great zombie movie perhaps you should watch "les revenants"
your a fucking moron, 28 days later and the new dawn of the dead (while they werent bad) deviated so much from what a zombie movie should be, with Land of the Dead, Romero brought the genre back to its roots, if anything bad can be said about Land was that it had CGI blood and that has no place in our world.
fuck you man, im entitled to my own oppinion. who says what a zombie movie should be? theres no guideline for it to follow, and it has never been a fixed standard. anyhow... i baught night of the living dead the other day and its pretty kick ass... the ending is a comical though cause the one survivor, the one who survives the zombie attacks gets shot by other humans.
what a zombie movie should be? there are too many movies that are 'what a zombie movie should be' I would much rather see a zombie movie with some creativity than watch a romero film A couple weeks ago I saw King of the zombies. It was definately the oldest zombie movie ive ever seen, being made in 1941. Its about some guy, his pilot and his black servant crashlanding on an island being run by a nazi spy who is raising the dead. As you would probly expect from a movie made in the 40s, it wasnt very gory. It also embraces many stereotypes that some people would deem racist. I found it pretty funny, as it had an abbot and costello type humour.
My favourite Zombie film is probably "The Happiness of the Kamakuras", it was just so weird and entertaining. In that musical sorta way...
that was a pretty cool movie, as most of miikes movies are, but I dont seem to remember any zombies in it.... though i did see it a while ago
I saw it a while ago too. Maybe I'm cracking up, I always thought when they started turning into weird things that they were zombies...my bad!
As much as house of the dead sucked, it was badass when they all had guns and went ona shooting spree. but god the acting was horrible.
the funest are the Zombi series made by italian director Zucio Fulci. tons of splatter gore along with the traditional romero style zombie. I suggest Zombi3, because its like the A-team with the walking dead.
*Lucio Fulci Zombi was the italian title for Dawn of the Dead and Fulci did a cash in on the name and scored a hit with Zombi 2. Didnt see the sequels. Fulci does good gore.
I am a Zombie nut. Zombies movies, books, comics, clothing...man, it's all geared at me because they know I'll buy it..haha. I don't know what it is about a mindless zombie movie (or the underlying messages in Romero's works), but I love them all. Probably one of the best purchases I made was this LIVING DEAD box set: http://www.cduniverse.com/productinfo.asp?PID=6829232 Cheap and full of hours of zombie (and some vampire) entertainment. Has anyone read the Zombia Survival Guide?
I have not, but the author of that just wrote another zombie book that brad pitt got the rights to make a movie of.
I cannot, CANNOT believe that "Children Shouldn't Play with Dead Things" hasn't been mentioned in this thread!!! 70's style hipster/artist/thespians being chased and killed by zombies on a deserted island. Great stuff...also, no one's mentioned "Day of the Dead", which I hear is also gonna get a modern/fast-zombie makeoever ala Dawn of the Dead '05.
