Wait a second here! So, everyone agrees that Jewish Zionism needs to be stopped because the Jews will never inhabit the land of their inheritance until God gives it back to them. Okay, now i'm going to expose my own ignorance, because i have a chance to speak with Jewish people about their take on the whole thing. Am i correct in thinking that Non-Zionist Jews, although wanting to live in Israel, are not willing to fight to the death for the land? They're happy to passively await the coming of the Kingdom? How do y'all feel about the mandatory military training/service? i've always thought that if things would ever settle down to a dull roar over there, with the Jewish people inhabiting Israel, and everyone else getting used to it, that that would be the best bet for a lasting peace for y'all. i'm not a Bible scholar, and honestly don't know if the Jews are supposed to keep trying to clear their land of unrighteousness, or if they're instructed to just kick back and wait for the Messiah. Help me out, here?
First off, I'm not sure Eliyahu opposes zionism, but I'll let him field that one. Secondly, the saddest part of 1948 until today is the death of Jews IDF soldiers. Why are they dying? Because the UN felt the Jews should make a home there? I can't justify their deaths. Only G-d can. I mean the reality at the time (end of WW2) was bleak. People were sure the Jews would never be safe anywhere again and this was the only way out. But what happened to trusting in G-d? How many Hitlers could there be, anyway? I don't know what should happen now. One thing I do know is that G-d speaks very strongly about Jews living there and not following His holy will and wisdom as it is expressed in the Five Books of Moses. I don't know how much longer this situation will exist for, but something tells me even G-d's patience will wear thin one day. And I am petrified of that day! I just hope before then humanity wakes up and starts working in a real way towards world peace and ending economic disparity. I hope this answers your questions and G-d bless.
I'm fine with Judaism as a religion. I'm fine with Jews wanting to live in Israel. What rubs me the wrong way is you want it all for yourself based upon something you read out of a book. The world has gotten much smaller since the time of Moses. We have to share what is left to us. Those who can't share will be pushed aside in the course of things. The Idea that Israel belongs to Jews and Jews alone is a perversion of thought. Someday, the thumb of the world is going to come down on top of Israel to impress the point. The biggest danger with Israel is that it has a paranoid disposition and nuclear weapons. It may very well destroy itself rather than let anyone else take it. It will likely take the neighborhood with it when it goes. Your land, is a timebomb. x
Xexon, just because your a blood thirsty American with a blood soaked history, doesn't mean anyone else in the world is. Yours is the only country in the history of the world to use the vile weapon. And then you used scare tactics for the next 40 years convincing people the Soviets would be as barbaric as the Americans and use it themselves. Xexon, you are of course aware that the secular State of Israel allows Arabs full citizenship and a place in their government. And this is to a people who have sworn the death of that very state. They don't allow freedom?!? Do some research and give me a break. They are the most liberal country ever formed and pay a severe price because of that often times having to release known terrorists. To give you an example, it would be like your good ole' US allowing al-Quiada members into Congress and freeing the 911 suspects because that same group complained. And the citizens there are free to practice whatever religion they want. And they don't have the death penalty over there - like you guys. You are aware that Israel has a very interesting twist regarding citizenship? Anybody, Jew or Arab, can get it. But here's the rub... Israel has another classification of citizenship called a "national". They actually have more rights than a "citizen". Only Jews have this classification. Only Jews can get this classification. Um, I prefer intellectual, but to each their own. Why would I waste my time reading nonsense from a person who isn't qualified to comment when there are still many text books I am yet to complete. Because I'm not willing to make the effort and go to the library and check them out? Life's too short to waste time on idiots, in my opinion. But again, to each their own. Someone in academia who has a PHD. Someone who has spent at least 5 or 6 years researching in depth the topic he is writing about. We're all college grads here, right? We know what good writing looks like. And you won't find it on the web, by and large. Text books are the way to go, generally speaking. And if you want a diversified opinion, it is best to buy books from authors who are not born in your native country. I thought this was pretty self evident, but I guess you never know..

I have to disagree with you, friend. Most of the world's leaders don't have the time to become well educated or to maintain their level of knowledge. They're too busy governing. I don't mean to insult your head, but if you think Bush is well educated, wow - that's just sad. Well educated people usually stay in academia - like university and the like researching, teaching, and writing their books. True intellectuals have no desire to govern, generally speaking, which is why we don't have any in power. Also, your secular society makes fun of intellect focusing instead on eye candy and the like so I wouldn't be surprised if you didn't know any intellectuals because they don't make the news. Also, by and large Europe and Asia just as many great minds as this country. But you seem to be stuck on this old country for some strange reason.
