Another company jumps on board the subscription whore bandwagon. http://www.theverge.com/2015/4/8/8371131/youtube-paid-subscription-offline-video - Greedy bastards won't be getting my money.
;(...so no access unless paying ten dollars every month? no more u-tube videos here? I am not paying that. That is sad.....I love listening to the music from there....I do not know where else to go for songs and music.....
Right.... They see that they have a chance to become the next TV, considering they're already bigger and better than TV. Now all they have to do is make it worse and take all the socialist empowering bits out, and they're good to go. However, I don't see ads now.... it's not that I wouldn't watch well targeted ads that are played a respectful number of times, it's that every time I have my adblocker off for whatever reason the ads are literally insulting and pandering, but with the attitude that they can be because I'm forced to watch it, or the first few seconds.... think again, assholes.
Good. Hopefully this fixed the chat room problem. Spamming of YouTube links and "watch this watch this" chit chat.
eh,, they been talking about subscriptions on youtube for a while. a few pay to watch shit is already there. $2.99 to watch Spies Like Us.
they will take every last penny from us, then when we have no more money left to take from us they will make us suck their cock
I forsee that if this is true, and implemented, then there will be lots of youtube clones that are free, and youtube will die,,, youtube will become myspace
The idea bothers me, because I am a serious self-learner. I use YouTube all the time to pick up useful skills.
Yes, I'm always looking up tutorials and tear-downs. I don't mind watching an ad but I will never pay a monthly sub. It's bad enough I've got 3 utility companies jumping on any fucking excuse to increase monthly rates. I hate vids that show they have a working project and don't give any god damn links or instructions, just showing off I guess, that really pisses me off.
I already deal with commercials and don't care to watch youtube videos offline, so this is the only part of instituting the subscription which sounds fucked to me. I agree with slappysquirrel too, that if too many videos start getting blocked, another site is likely going to take advantage of that and take their place.
