Yes. I think the worst ones are the "wannabees", not the Carlo Gambino types hehe.. I've traded exchange derivs + spot fx. Currently I'm very into analysis, systems/ models. But have further plans. Are you maths/ programming minded or more a generalist? I think big 6 accountancy is another route perhaps? I'd never personally call the markets boring. But its imp to be in the right area for your skills.
More of a generalist, my experience is in managing purchases and logistics..I've made some small investments myself in the stock market and had mixed results, essentially I didn't lose or gain anything. But I guess I am more interested in the analysis part. Looking at balance sheets, on-site operations, and making recommendations for investment decisions..that kinda thing.
Nah, it's really not like that. Haha, nothing is like in the US You went to business school, if I remember well? Goodluck with moving to UK for school! Isn't education very expensive there though?
Good to know! I'd suppose its based on some soviet laws or protocols. Thanks! I did go to business school, as a matter of fact I am finishing it this year. And well I guess its expensive , the program is gonna cost me about 10k GBP, plus another 10k i have to have in my bank account. I guess its worth it though in the long run.
I never thought you had the right personality type for medicine. I believe you will find law to be a much better fit.
I don't know about the personality type needed for medicine, but I agree that you seem well suited for law.
Then you can move to the US, marry me to expedite the process, and make some money. I'll keep your work/fun dynamic in check :2thumbsup:
Well I have been saving as much as I can for the past few years, so I am grateful I don't have to take any loans to pay for my education. :sunny:
About the personal life working with a Lawyer isn't always true. My boyfriend's mom works for a lawyer in family law and she is a very happy, funny lady. She lives her life and makes enough money where she can pretty much do what she wants in life.
Yeah definitely not everyone. I just saw patterns, I was a paralegal for 3 or 4 years and worked for quite a few people. Of course it was all litigation work, which is super stressful.
Don't worry. Learning to trade consistently takes time - esp high freq (which is my area). There's also corp finance, venture cap etc. Pay can be gigantic, but you need to have a real passion for the actual markets etc, IMO. If you ever want any thoughts, give me a shout.
You are really lucky to get your first degree for free and the second cheaply. Don't move anywhere else, lol! Which country do you live in, Piaf?
