I want an outdoor wedding, no church for me. I want a dress that's either strappy, or sleeveless, or a halter with elbow length gloves. Love the gloves. My theme will be lavender and white. Bridesmaids dresses will be lavender, and the styles will vary so they can pick whatever they want as long as it's the same color. I want us to say our vows under a trellis with wisteria growing on it. I'd love to use wisteria for all the other flowers, but they're too delicate. Anyway, my ceremony is gonna smell damn good! I want Cajun food for the reception, don't know how I'm going to manage this though. I can't cook all that food myself, or ask my mom or grandma, that'd be a little much I think. I have relatives that cater Cajun food, but I prefer our recipes to theirs. I'll figure something out though.
My ring is going to have a white gold band, with a cushion cut amethyst for the center gem. Not huge, but not tiny either. Then on the sides, preferably set into the band, I want tanzanite if I can get the purple ones. Most of the ones I've seen are blue, but I've seen a few here and there that are purple, I'm not crazy.
I'm not asking my parents to pay for it, they'll ruin it. I'm going to open a savings account solely for my wedding one of these days and pay for it myself. Then they can't say 'we're paying for it, we get to plan it,' or 'that's too much, you can't do that'. My mom might feel the urge to take over, but I'm a picky bitch when it comes to this.

My boyfriend and I have been talking about our wedding for a little bit. I always wanted something small, but he has a huge family, so small is out, I guess...

My best friend is an ordained minister, so he legally can marry us...no mention of God or anything like that...it's going to be pretty personal. Outdoors, of course, though Jerry wants it in a church (I'm going to get my way on this one, though...I have never been to church in my life.) My other best friend will be my maid of honor. I'll have a simple dress, one like my mom had when she married my dad. Jerry seems to be much fancier than me...I want simple..he wants something bigger...we'll see how it works out. I never thought I'd ever get married, so my "dream wedding" is still in the works. Jerry has changed my mind about so many things.

my grandfather is ordained, too, and will definitely want to marry me and my man. but i hate the idea of a huge wedding. i really just want to elope. if i already live with my boyfriend, why the hell do we need a big dumb ceremony...? i think i want to get married in indian garb on a beach.
