early pink floyd makes me go out of my head, or if i'm really up for going crazy, then mars volta and then after a few hours of that, phish makes everything lovely.
I'm surprised no one mentioned king crimson , the soft machine or the byrds. How anyone can trip to rap music is beyond my level of intellect. Please feel free to enlighten.
It must be because you don't 'understand' rap, Lou. LMAO-just kidding man, I'm with you on this one. Of course, country, electronica, pop, and house music would ALL drive me over the edge...so I'm not just hating on rap. *Now that I think about it I could probably handle the Beasti Boys, Public Enemy, or Dr. Dre, while on acid. It's just all the stuff that's come out in the last decade that I wouldn't enjoy.
Opera: Don't undermine it until you try it Classical: Makes you think you're more in tune with the traditional thinkers of the past. Black Metal: for your dark side.
tripping on rap is crazy. i love it. the beats are so sick. and if its a good rapper then the lyrics are just as good as any band. the words they put together at the speed they do it at are insane. insane wordplay+good beats. love it. especially in the car with sick subs.
Shpongle....by far The Doors Funkadelic nothing can put me to that certain place quite like shponglends interesting
Go listen to Deltron 3030, Immortal Technique, Bobby Digital, MF Doom, Madlib or his Yesterdays New Quintet, and especially the 2 together : Madvillainy. And tell me hiphop has dropped in quality in the past decade salmon. Look, hiphop, just like every other sound produced out there, is not going to appeal to everyone. Either you like it or you dont, but to make light of something and say "enlighten me" would take hours of introduction. With hiphop, especially underground, either you were there when it grew and were part of the culture, or you werent. That's just how it is. Its something that grows in your blood like the beat of your heart, the rythm of the Mother Earth, the dance of Shiva, the pound of the war drum. Because I spent half my life in inner city Philadelphia, grew up with hiphop, it still grows in me. It's the first music I understood and its what I listen to most often to this day. Hours and hours of freestyles and making beats when drinking or smoking on the porch, that's what my fun was as a kid. Playing classical guitar came later to me. But I wouldt say that Phish sucks because they werent around in the 60's man, and trust me, I HATE jamband music But to each his own
Im suprised more people havent said phish...any of their live stuff will trip me out while im sober or with a head full of acid
