all life is of the same worth. how is being reminded of something negative a good reason to kill the person who reminds you?
like i said IMO...if i was a girl, got raped, got pregnant, the average and common girl, wouldnt keep that baby. i can tell you that hands down because thats what i was told by my friend who had that happen before. she had it aborted, and i can see why, and she said..i cant raise a kid who i dont know who the father is, and raise the kid alone knowing that i was raped and now i have this kid. a kid that i dont want and now both the kid and i suffer. and i can see her point, i would elaborate, but this kind of debate, i dont think theres any elaboration, this debate is a black and white debate, and there is hardly any gray area..and i happen to be in the gray area
life is life. is your's worth more than mine? what about an ant? why? how do you determine this worth? the only way one life can be worth more than another is through personal opinion: your mother is worth more to you than some stranger. take opinion out, and where is the difference in worth?
I agree. Besides--sea otters, kittens, and puppies are all far more cute than any fetus I've ever seen.
If you were forced to kill either an ant or me, would you have a problem making that decision? The difference in worth between my mother and someone else's view is not the same as the difference between a fetus and a human being, which can be made quite non-emotional. A human being can think, feel, know, remember, reason, deduce, and contribute to society. A fetus's worth is only as potential. I think I can say without too many qualms that it is worth more to have a thinking, feeling, reasoning being than one with merely the potential. I'll disregard for the moment that something like a quarter of pregnancies end in miscarriage all on their own, but the conclusion I get is that a grown person's life is indeed worth more than a fetus. Which, by the way, it is not, until 8 weeks into the pregnancy. Before that, it is either just a zygote or an embryo.
l think it should be a woman's choice.....it's much worse to have a child, and not be able or willing to give him/her love, not take care of.... unfortunately, the world's full of this kind of examples....
I wouldn't call myself pro-life, for me Abortion is a definite negative overall, I believe that in cases of rape and fetal defects and mother's health then yes it should be an option for the majority of abortion cases especially those past the 1st trimester I completely oppose.
I believe it should be a woman's right to choose. I personally would not have an abortion, but I do not condemn those women who decide to have one. It's their life, their choice, their decision to live with. Peace and love
i wouldn't kill either of you, unless for survival. again, you are talking of worth to a person, or group of people. worth to society.
I am wholeheartedly in support of abortion. In the end, however, it is not a choice I can make for others, because it is their body and their choices.
I have no issue with it. I don't consider a fetus to be a human being, and medically speaking it's not. But I can understand the anti-abortion stand, they're on good moral ground, their hearts in the right place.
Abortion should be legal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AvF1Q3UidWM"]George Carlin: Pro Life, Abortion, And The Sanctity Of Life - YouTube
This thread has gotten so long I can't remember whether or not I've a;ready posted a comment on it. To me, it all depends on how developed the fetus is--in particular does it have enough of a nervous system to feel anything and enough of a brain to be aware of anything. That probably happens some time before birth, but I'm pretty confident a blastocyst in a petri dish doesn't have those qualities. And without them, I don't consider it human. The Bible doesn't say anything per se about abortion, to my knowledge. Just a prohibiton against taking a human life.
