That's just it. They try to stack all these charges against you so you feel like just pleading out is a great deal for you.

although they can't charge you for more than one reason for the same crime?

they have to pick just one offense.

If i got a dwi, a refusal, a mj posession, and fleeing from the cops.

    I think

    i dunno

they can only charge me for one of them. Which is why they "drop" everything else and keep one.
    They have to anyways.

I do however think they go way lighter on the sentencing if you plead vs. if you fight in court and lose. Not sure/thoughts anyone?

They can only charge you once for a crime but the charges you listed are all different crimes resulting in different charges.

yeah, you can posses weed, drive while intoxicated, and flee from the cops separately. they are three separate crimes. in general, you should try to only break one law at a time. THEN you can only get charged with one crime :)

Never been to court, went to a coroners hearing once after an unfortunate accident where a drunk pedestrian decided to try and beat me across the road. He didn't win..

I have a question for anyone with a legal background here.

If you are served papers to attend court after you have defamed someone and fail to turn up to the hearing, what is likely to happen to you?

A bench warrant will be issued by a judge if you fail to appear in court,

Yes he has that authority; although he’ll probably just grant a default judgment against you.

What’s the likely penalty for a defamation case if you don’t show and a default judgement is issued?

    ^^^^^^^^^

I would need more details regarding the case.

Btw You do have one out if the plaintiff was also a no-show. The case would simply be dismissed

    The plaintiff definitely showed up.

It’s basically the plaintiff calling out various examples of where their reputation had been harmed thanks to a bunch of fairly brutal posts on Internet forums and blogs.

never been. i knock on my wooden head that i never will.
one reason i've avoided more then casual involvement in politics in real life.
lots of trouble for my perspectives when in grade school.
thus paranoia of more involvement then signing petitions that don't require detailed location information.

thus also being very conscientious to avoid 'suspecious' behaviors of any kind for all of the 70 years i've been alive so far.
