In high school I was basically a straight 'A' Student. I graduated sixth in my class with a 3.97 GPA. I took a break from school for a year...went to college and I have a BA in Environmental Studies with a 3.3 GPA. I currently work as a dance instructor and a cashier at a food co-op. Nothing to do with my degree, although I love working at the co-op and have learned so much about organic farming and natural foods. Someday I want to go into Environmental Law and put all these fuckers in jail that do strip mining, clear cut forests, or pollute our air and water...that's my dream job. But for now I'm saving up to possibly go to New Zealand for a little while...that's why I'm working two jobs and not really thinking about doing much else as of now.
I've completed college (which in the UK is where you go between the ages of 16-18 before going to university). I studied English Language, Philosophy, Law and Music technology at A level. I graduated in TESOL in November and now I teach English as a foreign language in Prague. I am planning to do this for about a year and a half before heading onto university next October to do a combined BA in Japanese and East Asian Studies and then head back to Japan to settle.
i'm a mom. meh. i was an outstanding student, people had big plans for me. they just never let me in on it. my husband dropped out of high school. now he's working at an electrical engineering firm. he was doing investments before 9/11 trashed our bank account and disinterest ended his business. i'm planning on becoming a nurse.
cool. I have a friend who did that for awhile. She got her degree in molecular biology. She went to Costa Rica for two years as a conservationist for the peace corps. What an awesome goal for you to have!
In high school I spent as much time as possible in music and art classes, and if I was supposed to be in another class I would usualy cut class to hang out in the band or art class rooms. So needless to say I didn't get very good grades except in music and art. I went to school for "secondary instrumental music education" which is a fancy way of saying "high school band teacher" until I decided that I didn't want to spend the rest of my working days in high school. So I dropped out and went to trade school for welding tech. just because I was good at it and welding jobs pay well. Then 9/11 happened and the fabrication industry in my town went belly up. Lots of factory shut downs, lay offs, hiring freezes, etc. So the job market got flooded and I couldn't find a welding job to save my life. So now I'm an auditor. But that is just to pay the bills. I don't make much but I like the job, my boss and the people I work with. I pretty much am left to my own devices. But my passion is music, so I spend a lot of free time at work writing music (And going to hipforums, ha, ha). I spend most of my efforts trying to break into the local music scene, but I am a folk rock musician in a town of heavy metal and country music lovers... oh well, at least I love what I do.
