Can you remember your first toy you had as a kid or which toy you were really attached to? I guess I got a Popples when I was 2 years old and I always remember it being around while growing up. I still have it. I have a couple of my old toys in my kids' room on a shelf and my 2 year old just asked for me to get the Popples down. She seems to like it.. I love Popples, so cuddly...
Mine was a bear too, a bear I loved so much apparently, i threw it out the window on a road trip as a child and was devastated that my folks cb radio everyone near by and somehow someone found it. But in the mean time the exact same bear was bought for me and I hated it because it wasn't my bear. My folks still have them back in Australia in a box with the rest of my old stuffed animals. I've seen them and yuck, I can't believe I slept with that thing. It has no nose and just filthy dirty. Apparently I used to tantrum when mum used to wash it lol.
I got a chainsaw for my 2nd birthday No seriously, it was this red giraffe stuffed toy thing, adored it and had it for years
I had a teddy bear named teddy (I guess I wasn't very creative). I still have him somewhere. I ripped his arm off at some point. Poor teddy.
There wasn't much plastic around back then so something like this, a Marx wind-up tin car: and this: I don't remember a saddle but I do remember a similar mane and the horse was white and made of wood. I remember he was decapitated at some point and I can still see the head lying in a corner somewhere. The Puzo family lived down the street from us at the time.

I had a stuffed animal that was a Scotty dog. (Scottish Terrier) I wore all the fur off him and my Dad made a cover for him with an army blanket. I think it was stuffed with saw dust. I don't remember his ultimate demise but still remember him looking just like he did when I got him.
I loved my transformers, around the same time my sisters were caught up in cabbage patch-mania - it was a nightmare Hotwater
I always remember the good old Tonka trucks made from steel. I had heaps of them. I also remember toy plastic guns that actually looked real. I had an ak47 and m16 etc. they banned all that in Australia though and now only sell futuristic ugly things with gay ass sounds and vibrations.
i think the first thing my parents got me when i was 1 year old was like a little tinker toy airport set. toys in those days did not come with warning labels about chocking hazards and recomended age groups. this my have something to do with my mother always telling me not to put things in my mouth. i think the second thing they got me, second birthday or christermass or something, was a buddy-L fire truck. articulated hook and ladder. big enough for me to ride on and it came with a seat for me to do so. it was the most important thing in all of existence to me, and when they left it behind when we moved to california a year later when i was 3, i never trusted them again for the rest of my life. i don't remember what age i was when they got me my first and only plushie. it was a dog, large enough for me at the time to use as a pillow. which i did. and why i always remember it being flat side to side and most of the fur worn off and generally threadbare in the middle where my head lay on it. oh and i named him floppy. which of course he soon became, having been used as a pillow and all.
A cuddly toy rabbit called Ann ... wooden building bricks ... toy farm animals (my favourite being a calf called Beebee) ... push-along trains that ran on red plastic track.
