If you feel like that tikoo then why are you still Here? Perhaps you can sod off and go find a higher internet floor?
It always amazes me how someone can hate another because of their politics. I do not hate Republicans and conservatives, I have many as relatives. I think they have different opinions and respect that. Nor do I think less of them for their ways... One simply has to stand back and simply shake one's head at the amazing levels of hate being poured upon those who express love and optimism for a future that is all-inclusive, not racially exclusive. My relatives don't do that. Most people on the HipForums are evolved enough to have moved on from hate. I truly believe hatred is based on fear. And I see too much of that, it saddens me. But that is part of the human experience... and as such reflected like a mirror of humanity itself.
the terms conservative and liberal exist for the sole purpose of obfuscation. there is no left or right; there is only logic in the service of consideration, or its opposite, which is aggressive inconsiderateness. (and aggressive inconsiderateness does no one, nor their world, any favors)
I have only been here since March of this year. It is my first time in a forum, I was on myspace over ten years ago for a short time but that was just because it was the only way I could converse with my sister-in-law at the time. I had a Facebook account shortly after that but all I ever did on it was play FarmVille and I decided it was taking up too much of my time and I got rid of it. When my kids wanted some form of social media account I always got one too so I could keep track of what they were doing but now that they are older I don't really check up on them anymore. This is the only place that I have ever really posted anything about myself. It's just weird that I only feel like I can truly be myself when I am completely anonymous. At one point I did get a little paranoid that people from my real life might be able to tell who I was if they ever came on here because of pictures of my garden so I had them removed, it made me feel really bad because I liked that thread but I wanted to feel comfortable on here again more. I like being here, I have met some nice people and I look forward to exploring more of this site because so far I feel I have only seen a very small portion of it.
I agree. Some of those anti-Trumpers can be especially hateful from what I've seen. I'm guessing they were bullied as kids and despise the man's no-bs pushy git-er-dun ways. They get irrational about it and say about anything to shed a hateful light on him. They're like copperheads ready to pounce on a chipmunk to twist and contort anything he utters to try to convince people he's evil and wants to rape the country for his own benefit, never mind his actions. Biden for example is still claiming he's a white supremacist despite he clearly stated years ago "I'm not talking about the white supremacists and Nazis, they should be condemned completely." The lies about him being a sympathizer are particularly hateful because they promote violence. It's one thing to disagree on specific issues and approaches but another entirely when they make it their mission to vilify someone to gain power and wealth. Must be some deep seated fear in them to bring out such hateful nastiness. I don't know that we can get past these horrible attacks but it sure would be nice if we could! Bring back respect!
Exactly. "When the people find that they can vote themselves money that will herald the end of the republic." as Benjamin Franklin warned in the era of founding this country. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." That's more recent and we know who proclaimed that. Work is considerate, welfare the opposite.
Excellent post Zen, but people are fickle. When I was on another forum years ago I was interacting and enjoying the company and posts of a certain member. We got on like a house on fire and all was real friendly. Then in a post I mentioned that I thought Nigel Farage was brilliant in promoting Brexit which I wanted. That so called friend said that Nigel Farage made him physically sick and that I was a low life for supporting him. That was the end of me as far as he was concerned. That example there is just one of many back stabbings I have had from so called friends over the years. This is why sad to say I am very cynical over people and human nature nowadays.
When I found this place in 2005 I was a teenager having moved from Colorado to rural Kentucky. I was surrounded by rednecks and confederate flags, and the culture shock alone was tough to deal with. I ended up finding a super heady festival not far from where I lived and had my first exposure to the Grateful Dead culture. I was blown away and when I came home I was searching my dial up internet for people like the weird folks I had so much fun with. I found this place and I was here regularly for years. It gave me an outlet that I didn't have anywhere else and talking to those weirdos helped me grow as a person.
I jonied HIP a long time ago, longer than I can remember, Now I am a lion of few words as some knows (obvious since lions don't speak human, and writing is really difficult to do when you have paws ) Som I'll sum up my experience on Hip in one word AWESOMENESS
Good grief seven pages. I am still waiting for some I linked. Most posts are positive. That is good thing.
When you add up all the positivity and compare it to the negativity it seems the forces of evil are losing. A spirit of togetherness leads to great things. A tide of evil brings destruction and woe. Which would you rather have in your life?
