when i furst came here i was looking to feed my nostelgia about the late 60s and early 70s era, which was when i entered adulthood. literally i turned 21 in 1969. my interests included aesthetics of architectural freedom among other things, and what i personally had perceived, missperceived or not, as the culture of era. well i found a site, there were woodstock memorial sites too, but i found one called zenbazaar, and one of the links it listed was here. what i found here was pretty much a griffitti wall, mostly populated by people who like me, had lived their adolescense and entry into adulthood around the same time. my dissapointment was that many were just as mundane as my real world neighbors, but not all. there were also those with imagination and logic. i didn't come looking for people. just the aesthetic of the culture of that era. but of course, whatever any of our interests or perspectives, all our other interests and perspectives come with us. so basically i came to this graffitti wall to scrawl my own thoughts and dreams for others to make of what they will, and myself likewise to witness and perhaps be inspired by those of others.
And you do inspire us all. I know I usually post nonsense. But my unusual photos thread has been a learning curve on past eras. I truly feel that each of us gives this forum something for everyone.
well there's a couple of other places i hang out, there's furaffinity where i post most of my visual creations, and nation states which is a world sim kind of semi-game and forums combination, but hips is as close as i come to "social media" or feel any need to. and there are other places too. there's my webmail on yahoo. there are places with pictures of odd little trains and others, with odd little houses, and gardens and forests. and that's basically the alpha and omega of what i use the internet for.
I have viewed your site. Wonderful stuff. I only use this forum now. I am settled now. I learn something new every day on this forum.
I found this place in 2004. Over the years I have met loads of interesting folks from all over the world and learned a bunch of things I never expected to. I have had lots of fun chatting, corresponding and playing some of the games too. I have made some good friends. Folks have come and gone, of their own volition or have been kicked out. A few have simply passed away. Overall its been a very positive experience which is why I keep coming back.
You young man were my first forum friend. You are loyal I give you that. Also, it was YOU that helped me around this vast forum.
