It honestly was not that hard since my determination to lose weight was greater than my desire to eat. I've pretty much always been able to control my cravings if I really wanted, I just never did. But yeah, I still do eat sweets from time to time, but I keep it to a minimum. However, stuff like chips and fast food I will not touch.
I believe in a high quality fat diet. While trans fat should be avoided at all costs, low fat diets are associated with depression and premature wrinkles.
Your diet sounds quite healthy but can become ill from drinking too much water. There is a mechanism in your body that tells when to drink more water. It is called thirst.
I eat most everything in moderation. It has taken me a long time to get to this place because I suffered with an ED during my teens and early twenties. I try to make sure I eat 8-10 portions of fruit and veg per day. I prefer to only eat meat a max of 3 times per week I like to graze on snacks so I make sure I have healthy (and cheap) foods in the house such as carrots, celery, nuts and seeds. I try not to pay attention to the labels on products and in actual fact rarely buy products which are packaged because none of it really appeals to me any more. I'll have the odd greasy takeaway or pizza but it is a rare occasion - mainly because it doesn't tempt me as much as it used, rather than denying myself. I try to stay active so I can eat what I like, I run 3 times a week, walk for an hour most days, do yoga and swim daily.
You might want to worry about your cholesterol if you're eating 3 eggs every morning, but other than that your diet looks pretty healthy. Replacing shitty snacks with fruit, nuts, or yogurt has been really helpful for me.
That's a myth. Three eggs is perfectly fine. I could eat double that and still not have to worry about cholesterol. Besides, most of the cholesterol in the blood comes from the liver -- not food. I honestly don't worry about cholesterol. If you eat whole, unprocessed foods, cholesterol is hardly a concern. It's only when you eat processed, chemical-laden, nutrient-deficient food that cholesterol becomes a concern. I've always had the fortune of genuinely preferring the taste of healthier foods. Whole wheat, lots of fruits and veggies, so I eat very well without paying attention to the nutrition aspect and only the flavour aspect of it, plus I prefer to cook myself, so that makes eating well a lot easier.
I love eggs and I feel better when I eat them everyday. After getting free range eggs from the farmer's market, I cannot go back to the ones from the grocery store. The taste is so different. I'll get some more on Thursday And I pretty much never eat chips. I don't really like them. Whenever they get us sandwiches for lunch at work, they get chips and I never touch them. I do like sun chips, but I almost never get those either.
My parents were always very health conscious so I grew up caring about what I ate. I eat a lot of fruits and vegetables and only minimal local organic meat. I do have a weakness for sugar though and I have been known to eat the occasional bowl of frosting.
Bowl of frosting... hahahahaha Well, you certainly don't have to worry about your weight at least. You have always looked thin and in good health.
The sad thing is that I am not kidding. I also used to just eat straight white sugar as well... but at least I have stopped doing that! Also, thanks for saying I look healthy as opposed to saying I look anorexic
my choice is to drink even when im not thirsty or pass kidneys stones more often i choose to take my chances of taking in too much h2o..its hurts less than pissing out a fucking starfish
