if the bear is happy and wants to play he might go after the faster one

 

I've never seen a bear in the wild/nature before.

If I saw a wild bear and the wild bear saw me, I'd quietly say "hi", little sheep dog, then I'd turn slowly and walk away.

I'd keep talking and walking, "nice doggie, good boy"and move faster and faster, looking back to see anything. Keep talking to myself " It sounds far away" "not far enough" "where am i going?" "I'll tell you when I get there"

Don't know if that would work.

 

i keep firecrackers handy to scare them

the little rocket ones that send a whistle and throw out a little pellet that explodes seem to work best

ive used them to push away loud crows too

 

They were legal here when I was in my twenties. Good times Unprepared party tourists fucked it up for everyone else

 

Bears on your land.. omg!
The best I get are foxes and bats.. the foxes are not so cute, but stand looking at you.. the bats I love to watch at dusk..

But bears!!!

 

havent seen too many bats in my life but in the last few years we have flying squirrels appeared ...never noticed them before

they start around dusk and are active all night

 

We get about 5 or 6 bats at dusk in the summer and fall. They don't come out if its windy or rainy.

 

If I move. My security lighting comes on, they fly right into my yard.. just before dusk, the noise they make is like something from the film, Birds by Alfred Hitchcock.. amazing critters!

 

We counted 40 bats coming from my neighbors attic one evening. We had them too but they migrated away from our houses.

 

House bats are bad! These are fruit bats, more scared of me than other way round! Very cute!

Think I've seen bats twice here. Very rare.
My aunt has had bears in her yard tho I think, as well as moose and a giant turkey. Probably more stuff. She lives in "the wilderness" though. I'm in the suburbs.

I feel like crap today, physically. Mood is decent though, considering how hellish I feel. (What's happening posting here today)
