I want to be cremated then have my ashes dumped in a hole in the earth and have a tree planted in the hole. Perhaps on a nature reserve or something similar. I had orginally thought it would be cool to have my ashes taken into space and jettisoned, but this is expensive and as far as I know NASA will only allow you to do this for 5-7 grams. I'd like that as well. Funerals are a big waste of money. People just get sad and then eat sandwiches. I'm pretty sure there are better ways to remember the deceased.
Would love to be mummied or sealed in a coffin and shot into the space.....realistically, organs donated and naturally buried near a orange tree.
I’ll request cremation :2thumbsup: The thought of flies laying their eggs on my decomposing body and burrowing into my dead flesh is disconcerting Hotwater
Hmmm.. my body reduced to a pile of ash within minutes compared to the imagined prolonged agony as I’m slowly devoured from the inside out by eight-legged creatures with antennae :hide: Hotwater
There was a woman who had her husbands ashes made into a diamond. And, someone had their ashes put into a firework, I think there were even pencils.
I've got a suggestion; If you want to be preserved for science next time you come across a bog just dive in If it has the right chemistry you could be preserved for 10,000 years :2thumbsup: Hotwater
I'd rather already be dead when that happens! Though, I wouldn't like to be in a museum, or whatever they'll have then.
Most likely in the near future, they will have power plants that run on the burning bodies of the recently deceased! Turn on the computer or a light bulb, up in smoke goes uncle Harry.....
Yea, some people have their ashes blown into glass pieces as well that get given to family members. One I heard of had their ashes blown into seven or eight small glass hearts that were given to their family. Bob's your uncle
its the circle of life! You die so those creepy little flies can live! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vX07j9SDFcc"]YouTube - Lion King - Circle of Life
I like this idea! =D I for one don't really like to think about this, but I guess eventually it's an issue that must be tackled!
