Everyone who signs up for the military doesn't hope or expect to go to war and kill people. They know it is a posibility, but they don't sit around and wish for it and if you believe they do, then you need to talk to some people who are in the military. I'm just as much against this war as anyone else is, but let us place blame where it acutally lies, and that is not with the soldiers, it is with the United States government who decided to invade an occupy another country. I'm not saying that soldiers don't know right from wrong, because most of them do and they should be held accountable for what they do wrong. What I am saying is that our military didn't just wake up one day and decide to all go to Iraq and start raping people.

 

Now, I'm sure at least 5% of those in the military signed up to kill people.

 

I never said they wanted to go off to war and kill people, but they have to know that it is a real possibility. To say it isn't their fault is dumb because they accepted all the benefits (and there are plenty) of being a soldier during peacetime. Personally I think that any soldier soldier who tortures/rapes/abuses a POW or any other human being for that matter should be immediately dishonorably discharged, no questions asked, on the spot. I know that 99% of the solders in Iraq are great people doing a great service for their country, I don't know where you got the idea that I thought all soldiers are prisoner-raping scum from.

Graphic photos appearing on Arabic websites of U.S. servicemen raping and sexually abusing Iraqi women were actually taken from American and Hungarian pornography sites. Albasrah.net and a Tunisian website produced in France by Committee for the Defense of Saddam Hussein [Comité de Défonce de Saddam Hussein En Tunisie], posted not only the recently broadcast photos of U.S. troops abusing and humiliating Iraqi prisoners but additional ones of alleged group rape of women by American soldiers, some who are depicted holding rifles against their victims' heads.

No, it seems like here, Rape is only terrible if a US solider does it to women.

I agree that any and every rape is wrong, no matter race, creed, ect. And any man or male, should be held accountable.

However, it seems that these photos were not legit. It doesn't mean that Iraqi womyn were not ever raped. I would be surprised if it didn't happen at one point or an other. WHO is going to beleive an Iraqi womyn, and who would she tell if it did happen, anyway?

 

Do Iraqi's typically have weddings at 3AM in the middle of the desert 80 miles from the nearest town and with rifles, machine guns, and vehicles mounted with weapons?
