I might have mentioned this before:

You might be a hippy if you feel a bit of sadness and anger everytime you hear Crosby, Stills, Nash, & Young's (or Neil Young's) song, 'Ohio.'

 

You might be a hippie if you were one of the 'enemy' during Richard Nixon's reign as US President. (or you could have been a South Vietnamese peasant, North Vietnamese soldier, a Laotian citizen who thought the US was your friend even if you didn't play along with all of the Washington mandates, or a Cambodian who also thought the US was your friend. I suppose if you were a citizen of any Eastern Block country, you were not so much an enemy as a pawn and a scapegoat opponent or participent in a race for global domination).

You might be a somewhat frustrated hippy if you take a frisbee to the park, and no one is there...

 

You may be a hippy if random strangers on the bus tell you that you look like you're dressed for hempfest and you have to tell them that you always dress this way. XP

 

If you love to go for walks for no reason other than to be outside even if it means getting sweaty.

 

If everything around you is moving and you're standing still.

 

you know your a hippy when your school is having there spirit week and one them is dress like a hippy day. on that day you get your picture taken and its put into the yearbook haha (true story)

 

Especially, if you didn't know it was dress like a hippy day and didn't dress any differently than usual.

You know you are a hippy if modern technology befuddles you, man!

 

Here's a true story: You know you are a hippy if your office decides to celebrate halloween by dressing up in costumes, and you dress up in a very authentic hippy costume with the actual things you had saved from the 60's (and for those things that you no longer had, you were able to replace with items you found left over from the 60's (such as a Vietnam era army jacket found at a thrift store)). And not only did you win the costume contest, but all day people were teasing you with comments like, 'Why didn't you dress up in a costume today?' or 'Hey! Where's your costume?' and there were a number of people who didn't think it was fair that you won the costume contest.

Yes that did happen to me, and no, I didn't normally wear hippy clothes to work. Though my hair was usually long, and I went from moustaches to beards to whatever. But I worked in the stock market, what did you expect---a tuxedo with tails, an ascot, and a top hat?

(though I thought that would be a really cool way to dress too-----SO:

You know you are a hippy if you wear a tuxedo with tails, an ascot, top hat, with long hair, and sandals, and a pair of blue granny glasses when you go outside).
