Now... I had to stop reading this thread part way through... Not for the reason some others have suggested they were going to though... I had to, because there are some people who are posting in here that I do actually like, whom if I read anymore from, I would feel like I was being mean to them... So... to start with, to those who I am sure know who I mean... don't take any of this personally...

Now that that part is out of the way, I have to address a couple of issues brought up...

Phonetically, it is a word that can be used to convey deep hatred... The 'k' sound at the start and the 't' at the end, combined with its shortness make it able to be a very harsh word indeed... although, the way it sounds, has nothing to do with its actual meaning.

Relationship wise... I find the fact that I disagree with some of you on this really shocking, but I guess I should be getting used to being different... There is no word that conveys any sort of disrespect to a person you care about when it isn't being used as a derogatory manner... just as there is no word that conveys any sort of respect when it is used in a derogatory manner to one you don't like... Think of the word 'sir'...

Actually, after typing this, I see why I disagree with those I mentioned earlier... its actually over the same issue I always do... Although words do have definite meanings, they will never replace what is being said in all the ways we can't see online. I try (and often fail) to remember that just because I 'hear' a tone online, doesn't mean the person typing it, actually used that tone, or even one close to it.

Anyway, back to the word and its usage... People should pay more attention to the way people treat them, rather then the way they talk to them... We all know many many polite, 'respectable' seeming people, who would never utter such a word, who turned out to be one of the most abusive people we ever met...

As for me... As I started this, I will finish it...
