"You can't prove a universal negative."

    interesting thread,

    well if you talk about nothing as something then it seems like you mean the idea is the something. it seems more of a problem between the idea and what it actually "is".

    usually when you compare thing, i would expect that you would compare certain properties of it. you first had to turn nothing into an idea to compare it with something. so in that sense an idea is something. so that's right but it doesn't really say anything.


    i see disproving and proving both as trying to prove something eventhough they are different words.
