Funny how the "so called" pro-lifers are pro-death penalty. It's like they'd rather make them be born, so they can kill them later with more pain and suffering.
You would have done better by comparing it to welfare or something like that. Death penalty doesn't really work
None. No difference. Once egg and sperm meet ; life has commenced. Don't fall for NWO tactics. We do realize the tremendous pressure exerted on society to rationalize infanticide ; however , the secular left will not penetrate all segments of society. I do think the answer to the above question is fairly obvious. Governments , secular humanists and the NWO left needs to wash the blood from their hands.
How many people has the Catholic church burned in the past three centuries? (I think the answer is zero). That's what's important. My point is that it's unfair to tarnish a group because of things it's leaders did centuries ago.As for the bumper sticker, what is a Catholic? Is it a matter of self-definition or is there some objective criterion. Can you be a Catholic even if the Church and bumper sticker manufacturers think you aren't? Opinion polls report that over two-thirds of Catholics in the U.S.think "good Catholics" can disagree with the Church's position on the subject, and over one-fifth of abortions in the U.S. are to women identifying as Catholics.
That's just your opinion, and stating it dogmatically does nothing to settle the matter. A blastocyst in a petri dish has none of the qualities I'd consider to be morally important. It can't think. It can't feel It has no nervous system. Is there anything in the Bible that says otherwise?
Funny, I get chastised and labeled a troll for criticizing islam. Lately , bashing Catholics seems to be a hobby for some , will these bashers face the same scrutiny?
If you are ex-communicated, you can "believe" you're Catholic, but the church says you're not. If you "believe" Jesus is the son of God, you can "believe" you're a Muslim, but Islam says you're an infidel. You can "believe" you're pro-life, but if you are for the death penalty, you're not really. You can "believe" you're pro-life, but if you follow a religion that kills people as infidels because they don't follow that religion, you're not. Point being, what you "believe" doesn't make it true. That's so sad. I hope you get cured.
Well, there ya go. We are talking about a clash of science and religion. One depends on rationality, the other doesn't. Only about half of the eggs that are fertilized ever survive naturally in even the best of conditions for more than a few days. So if we assume that there are now about 7 billion people alive, 7 billion have died before reaching the first week of existence. Obviously that means there are roughly 3.5 billion women who should be brought to trial on some type of manslaughter charge. Zygote killers. The 3.5 billion males would be excused, of course, as they did their part and the deaths are the fault of the women who didn't take proper care of themselves and their "babies". See below. In addition by saying there is no difference you are conferring the same legal rights and biological status to a zygote, embryo, and fetus, as a baby has. This raises severe legal and moral problems as a zygote has no brain, blood cells, organs, sensory apparatus, etc., yet you would give it all the rights of a fully developed baby. The embryonic stage is the time when the greatest damage can occur due to alcohol or recreational, over the counter, and prescription drug consumption by the mother, infections contracted from the mother, nutritional deficiencies due to the mother, and x-ray or radiation therapy conducted on the mother. Since you have given it the same legal status as a baby the mother would be liable to child neglect, child endangerment, child abuse, and manslaughter if any harm came to either the zygote or embryo. The same for any other adult who could be considered an accomplice to the fact. Such as an x-ray technician. We can say the same for the fetal stage. I have no idea where the NWO, secular humanist, and governments enter into this discussion as a zygote, embryo, and fetus are a part of a women's body and as yet not a separate entity. You are the one trying to impose your values and morals onto her, not the other way around. I have no idea how infanticide enters into the discussion either as infants are babies that have been born and exist independently of the mother's body, they are not attached by physical means as a zygote, embryo, and fetus are. And I haven't mentioned all the eggs and sperm that also have the potential to develop into babies, if only given the chance. Clearly all adult males and females should be held legally responsible for not mating at every opportunity that presents itself to them, in fact they must actively seek out such opportunities continuously or bear the full legal and moral repercussions of the deaths of countless potential babies that result from their failure to do so. They are default baby killers due to their willful inaction to provide a path for those eggs and sperm to develop. Same for any type of birth control including rhythm, abstinence, tubal ligation, vasectomy, and hysterectomy.
At finity for the working acceptability of what there be to tolerate for reasons of making up one's mind (it's not 'just do it'), both science and religion are based upon beliefs. One seeks those beliefs to make sense in a conscious way; the other possesses these for the re-collection. Really pro-choice cannot relinquish a personal feeling for a past belief. Can it?
So are you assuming what the church says goes? Why? My dear mother, God rest her soul, considered herself a Catholic, attended church regularly, and was regarded as being Catholic by all who knew her. But she taught me that Catholic doctrines on reproductive matters were made up by celibate old men who didn't know what they were talking about because they lacked practical experience. (Thanks, Mom!) French and Italian Catholics can love the church dearly but the males seldom go to it, except for weddings and funerals. Even the Pope has warned recently about getting obsessive about birth control, abortion, and homosexuality as the essence of Catholicism. That's a little different. Obviously you can't be two mutually exclusive things at once. You can't believe that the Qur'an and the New Testament are both completely true, when they say completely different things about the nature of God, Jesus, and Muhammed. "Pro-life" is a political slogan coined specifically for the abortion debate, because it sounds better than "anti-abortion." When people use it in that context, I doubt that they really mean they're literally "pro-life" in all cases. Otherwise, it would be inconsistent for them to kill abortion doctors. Is this a hypothetical religion, or do you have in mind al Qaeda or the Taliban? [/QUOTE]
Can I get an amen to that?! Did she also tell you that Catholic doctrine was put together by the priests of Constantine at the counsel of Nicaea, who were looking to give him the ultimate authority? Did she also tell you that those priests threw out more scripture than they put in the bible? How did your mom justify the million people the church killed as heretics? How did she justify all those pedophile priests? Jesus said, "Call no man father, for your father is in heaven.", yet the church says to call all the priests father. The Catholic church goes against the teachings of Jesus so much, to be Catholic is to spit in Jesus face. Another poster said you can be anything you want. The Koran, the Torah, and the Catholic and Protestant bibles all have the first six books of the Old Testament. The split is, Muslims "believe" that it was Ishmael that Abraham sacrificed, the Jews "believe" it was Isaac. Muslims "believe" Jesus was a prophet, Jews "believe" he was a liar and a fraud, Catholics "believe" he is the son of God, and Protestants "believe" he IS God. Well at least the evangelicals believe that. And they all "believe" in talking snakes. So they just use "pro-life" when it's convenient, to make themselves look better than everybody else. It's in the Koran. And the Catholic church did it for a thousand years.
Some folks will do anything to rationalize. When sperm and egg meet it is life. I'm a male , a father; I raise my daughter ; a child not a choice. Pretty simple. Ah , let's look at numbers. The white and black race are drastically declining in population ; abortion is why. Osama bi Laden had 53 siblings. Incest is why. Weird huh? African American individuals should be quite interested in the founder of Planned Parenthood and what her intentions were.
