Hello gorilla here. I didn't see somebody was talking about the tree dilemma I didn't see the tree fall there for it did not make a sound ok fine something happened but what did a tree fell well whats a tree whats a fall whats a sound ? Billions years ago when universe had no life it was just like a huge rock floating in space dead matter completely unimportant with no spirit no mind no imagination . Ok I do agree the external universe exist buts it consist of ones and zeros its all irrelevant if there is no machine like a human brain(aliens work to) to comprehend it, make sens of it all. Its if eg u have a dvd disc but no dvd player, so what if the disc haves all that information in it u will never see it it will never be part of ur reality it could exist or it could not there's no difference. I mean if the universe where completely empty just endless infinite space would u say it was real does it exists after all it consists of absolutely nothing or atliest u cannot see it or touch it i would say no. Just like we all say there's nothing beyond the edge of the universe well its expending in to something but we cannot comprehend it there for its not reality it does not exist.
Bad news gorillas are everywhere this is the planet of the apes u a are outnumbered and we can use 4 machine guns at once :willy_nilly: and robots apparently -.-'
in theory you cant ever touch anything, picture it like this if you were one foot away from your screen, and you were to start travelling towards it, you would eventually reach the halfway point, and then the halfway point from that halfway point, and so on and so on explaining it this way shows that there is infinite space inbetween everything in existance, even halfway between the space between two objects would also be infinite, so if you could travel the infinite distance to get half way, that would mean its possible to travel the infinite distance to get ALL the way , and actually touch the object
I'm not sure what you're getting at with this explanation, but.. there is not infinite space between everything. Right answer, wrong method: In physical terms, there is a smallest possible distance. Eventually it becomes impossible to divide the distance in half again, so the final distance must be crossed. In mathematical terms, one word: limit. The limit of the series 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16... is 0.
My wife and I argue over things. Sometimes, in order to keep the peace, we decide to meet halfway. I've found that the secret is in keeping oneself far enough away so that halfway is just far enough away to keep from getting poked in the eye.
Secret of peace in the family is for a man to be the master of his household and keep his wife busy with womanly chores (like babysitting, taking care of house, dishes, bathing and pampering her husband and etc). Zeno's paradox is a different subject.
Neither one of these is a "secret". However, the former is plainly untrue, as well as unworkable in many families. You seem to be an idealist. Idealism only works in either an ideal environment, or a rigidly structured one. In the latter case, it is not a situation that will last, because it has no motivating factor, beyond the imposition of fear. One cannot remove, by means of legislation, the innate desire for freedom, and human rights.
I have a wife and few girlfriends. Works practically well for me. I am not an idealist. Been out of kidergarten for a while.
You say "obviously" because you are fear an enlightening and possibly self-challenging exchange. The use of this word is commonly meant to say,,"I'm not willing to go further with this." The reason, however, is not so obscure. But rather than to challenge your assumptions, I release you from any further obligation. Live your life. One way or another, you will learn.
You are already one with everything, so the entire concept of touching something other than yourself is unfounded.
