You Are Not Allowed To Use That Image Extension On This Community.

What kinda biased shit is this??.. I can insert picture from pornhub and xhamster, but I cant use a picture from ICANHASCHEEZBURGER/ LOLCATS!!!! Are you serious?..

 

I get that all the time on the Picture Association Thread and it pisses me off

what type of image was it, a jpg, bmp, gif or png?

my guess is it may be a .png, especially if the site was built with Dreamweaver or other Adobe product.

 

.png works for me


the ones that dont ...usually have size code in them..or are just a link and dont even have an extension

 

^ Kind of roundabout way I got that image posted from LOLCats but I copied it to the desktop and then uploaded it to imgur and copied it from imgur to here and it worked. It was not posting directly from LOLCats

Let's say you googled Lolcats, and you see a meme you like and want to use but you copy the picture's address, paste it in the image coder thing for our forum, and it says "nope". Well... what you can do is

Google Lolcats

Find the meme you like

See where it shows the size of the image, like 600 x 400 e.g.

click on that!

It will bring up other sizes of the same image, and for me half the time there is another size of the image with an appropriate file extension or file type.. whatever you call it.

The other half the time there is no other size of the image.

The secret orison my friend, is that when you get a resource from http://cheezburger.com they're using some sort of rewrite on the server to the image extension.

So if you right click on copy image location, you get something like this.

Which is not a valid image extension. However it is a valid image.
